Well yes, the solstice. But it’s still wintry in many places.

Some places never get snow but it is still winter. Some places always get snow, even in the summer.

Yep, I live in South Florida. We don’t get snow, but it’s still the winter months.

I remember my first time seeing snow in real life. You see, I lived in Florida from when I was 2 until when I was 10, so snow was like Scooby Doo to me, in the sense that it only happens on TV. Then I move to New York in 1977 and that winter, it snowed and it was a sight to behold.
Maybe you should try posting more.

You are all weird, it’s summer. I shall not have a roast this year, roast prices are stupid. I shall have something nice like ham and salad and lashings of prosecco and christmas pudding and cream. Then, because my TV is thankfully useless due to terrible reception at this time of year, I shall listen to the radio on Boxing Day to enjoy the Test. I will practice on my ukulele, synthesizer and bass and try and write again after a bit of a recess due to illness. Like @Expert Textpert I’m self-contained; my family is too far-flung and reticent to do the xmas like my childhood, which I do not miss. But I retain enough connection to humanity to wish all a safe, happy, and nourishing Christmas regardless of privilege or viewpoint.

Expert Textpert, BeatlebugI'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

It isn’t even winter yet.
I consider it a gradual transitory thing, rather than a cutoff date, because that’s how it is in practise. Anyway, if I waited till December 21st to start doing wintry things, I’d not have enough time to get all the Christmas-ing stuff in.

Are there any non-Christmas music you play during the holidays?
I like the song Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah the glee cover. Has energy.

We interrupt this fascinating discussion to bring you an important message.
Richy the red-nosed Ringo
Had a very prominent nose,
And if you ever heard it,
You would prob’ly say it snores. You’re a real window-rattler, son.
All of the other Beatles
Used to laugh and poke and tease,
They’d only let poor Richard
Sing a single song per LP.
Then one day at Abbey Road ,
Johnny rang to say,
‘Ringo, with your voice so deep,
Won’t you sing my kid to sleep?’
Then how the fangirls loved him,
As they shouted out with glee,RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Right then, carry on with your regularly scheduled programming…

Why not go for some non Christmas albums instead, how about 5 must get for Christmas live albums.
I’ve been listening to a lot of non Christmas music. This next week is my last school week before break so I decided I’d do Christmas music this week.
Ehh not my taste, except the Beatles. I do also listen to Queen a little bit.
As far as live albums go, I don’t really care for them. I know some people will be like, “it’s like being there” but I’d rather actually be at the concert, or listen to my music without the applause and screams. That goes for live video recordings too. I don’t find them that entertaining.

Of course it is, or I wouldn’t have posted it here. But it didn’t strictly pertain to the conversation that was going on at the time.
