I’m a tad early for Christmas of 2014, and only a day late for this Christmas Just Past, for my recommendation:  I like those Christmas Beatles on Joe’s masthead, with their red Santa hats on.  But even better would be to have one slight alteration:  have Ringo be the “odd man” by wearing a green elf hat and blouse.

Faded flowers, wait in a jar, till the evening is complete... complete... complete... complete...

Ah, I got a bit of Beatles stuff.

Let It Be  (the movie)
Magical Mystery Tour , Yellow Submarine and Past Masters (on CD)
Love and Let It Be… Naked (on iTunes)
A shirt that shows them playing at the Cavern.
The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions and The Beatles (It’s a book, not a very popular one, but it’s good)
And an iTunes gift card that I used to buy Imagine (the song), Instant Karma!, the Concert for George version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Queenie Eye, and Turned Out.

No, I don’t have any idea why the whole post is in italics. I’m not doing it.

Christmas started with a huge breakfast. We do that every year. We order all kinds of bread, buns, Weihnachtstol (google it, don’t know the English word for it) and a lot of different spreads. I had made a playlist on Spotify with 85 Christmas songs and we bought a Christmas CD. So those things were on all day. The rest of the day was a bit boring. I dressed up nicely and had curlers in. I then went outside to walk the dog and BOOM. My hair was flat again. Then my grandma came and we had tea and some cake and then we watched Love Actually and my parents started to cook.

We had way too much food. There was enough to feed 5 other families. We had a shrimp cocktail, as we call it and then we had soup. After that I had half a rooster, some salad and some potatoe croquettes. My grandma made her own special salad which had potatoes and beef in it and a lot of other stuff. She also made a salmon salad. There were also stewed pears, green beans, a lot of sauces and I think I’m forgetting something. For dessert you could choose ice cream, pudding, which my mom cooked and a fruit salad (which was basically a mountain of whipped cream with some fruit in it.) and of course there was enough whipped cream. I ate way too much. And there was plenty of food left so we ate that today.

Today we went to a Christmas show in an old village which is near. Afterwards we walked through the village, which was wonderful. When we returned we played a game, a popquiz. We then had dinner and now we’re watching the Muppets’ version of A Christmas Carol.

So in the end it turned out alright. I feel like I’ve eaten enough for the rest of the week.

So how does rooster taste, exactly? I’ve had duck, but never rooster…

Wouldn’t it taste like chicken?

Just reading that list of food makes me feel stuffed.

Yip, you even have a great way of getting rid of your guests when its time for bed – just put the Give My Regards To Broad Street DVD on and your guests will be gone within 5 minutes of it starting. No need for subtle yawns, checking your watch, or trying to put their coats over their heads without them noticing.

LOL. It was on my list because I want to see how bad it really is (and it was cheap).

Where did you get it from, never knew the DVD was out?

Remember to let us know your thoughts as you get thru your gifts. Have you heard all the George albums before or are some new to you?

Will do. The DVD is available for less than 10 dollars on Amazon. I have heard all of the albums but didn’t have physical copies.

Yeah rooster tastes exactly the same as chicken, but it just felt wrong typing ”chicken” as it really was a rooster.

I went out and bought my Xmas presents to me today:

The Beatles in 100 Objects (beautiful book, don’t like that it’s not chronological!)

The BBC Archive (had to be ordered, arrives Friday or Monday!)

What If? Military Historians Imagine What Might Have Been (Hey! I like history! Kick me!)

I trust you knew what you wanted and were getting so it wasnt a big surprise when you opened them. It’s always a disappointment when you get the wrong things from yourself.

Merry belated Christmas. Enjoy your night.

I was a history minor in college, so I love stuff like that. I got the PBS Civil War DVD set from the wife this Christmas, and I’m on 1862 now in the series.
