Like A Hard Day's Night?
I'd like to be, under the sea, in an octopus's garden, with you.

Casablanca is a heartfelt stoy of a couple who meet in Casablanca in 1942 during World War 2. Rick is the owner of a cafe and his former lover appears with a criminal who has been aluding Germans all over Europe.

Casablanca.. I could spend hours talking about this film. It's just amazing.
And how about the Marseillese song?? I love it!! It truy brings me tears to my eyes.. and how Rick helps the young couple to get the papers to travel by plane… and how Ilsa goes at night to ask Rick for help and he says he will do the right thing for both….. and how when Ilsa listens to A Time Goes By, you can see the pain in her face.. and when Rick sees her.. that almost invisible smirk in his face like saying “You….”…. and Ilsa's wardrobe!! Holy Cow I wish I had a dress like hers and wear them as she does but that's just impossible…
And the script is amazing… “Here's look it at you kid” “I'm shocked at the gambling in this place!! Your winnings Sir.. Oh thank you very much” “From all the gin joints from all the towns from all the world, she waks into mine”, “play it Sam, for old time's sake”, “Round up the usual suspects” “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship”… and the line that always breaks my heart.. “And what about us? We'll always have Paris”…
Man.. why did you remind me this? Now I'll have to watch it …
BTW My favorite Casablanca clip
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……
Something in the way she moves…..attracts me like a cauliflower…
Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.

It's because movies were shorter, so it was straight to the point. Now you have to fill 2 hrs with dialogue.. and doing it with a smart screenplay .. is quite hard…

No, it's not. It's an excuse for the Beatles to act, write their own lines (sort of), and show the world the less appealing side of incredible fame.
The albums and concerts are the “excuses” for the Beatles to sing.
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

The film was a gimmick to get United Artists Records a deal to release the soundtrack in America.
Stop fighting me on everything, M3. It's aggrevating.
I'm not fighting you. If you want to know what a fight is, go see one of the locked threads. (“What does Paul say at the end of 'Cry Baby Cry '” and “Bass: Paul vs. George.”) Really. I'm not fighting you.
EXAMPLE OF A FIGHT:
“You're a baby”
“Shut up”
“It's not my fault if you disagree with me even though anyone with half a brain can see I am right and you are wrong”
“*stupid clip art like the 'care-o-meter' one*”
“Oh, real mature”
“Pbbbbblt” (that's a raspberry being blown)
“Nyah! Nyah! Nyah!”
*thread gets locked*
THIS CONCLUDES MY EXAMPLE OF A FIGHT
Now, let's get back on track before this thread gets COMPLETELY derailed without Zig posting anything.

Well yes, but I was referring to “The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer” type movies, and like “Rebel Without a Cause.”

Have you seen any of The Thin Man movies?
Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!
I don't think I've ever seen Casablanca all the way through. My favourite film, though, is Play It Again, Sam by Woody Allen, so make of that what you will.
Anyone heard Harry Nilsson's version of As Time Goes By? It's on an album of standards that he did, A Little Touch Of Schmilsson In The Night, which was produced by Derek Taylor. It's an excellent album (I'm a huge Nilsson fan – he was a friend to The Beatles, John in particular) – the song reappears as a motif throughout the record.
(Not trying to derail the thread or anything – this is on-topic, kind of.)

I've heard that version and I love it!!!
And Joe, isn't it that movie based on a play? Or is the other way around? Because in Mexico in the 90s (or 00s, don't remember well) there was a theater company that had a production of Play it again Sam. I never had the chance to see it.

Oh, I'm a Casablanca fan! Never miss it when it's on. I love Claude Rains' scenes – he's so cheerfully cynical!
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.
Yes, Play It Again, Sam was based on a stage play written by Woody Allen, which he adapted for the screenplay. It was way before the 1990s though.
