Now I’ve heard about the End of the Year Awards a few times, but haven’t been here for one. Don’t wanna derail the thread but could someone explain? I get the general idea, but how does it play out?
No no, lock and pin are different things. Lock means there’s no more posting, pin means it’s stuck at the top of the All Together Now section.
I’ll find the EOTYA link, but basically it’s just where people vote for posts and people they think deserve the awards that year.
EDIT: Here it is. That starts with the 2010 awards. It’s progressed considerably since then, but it’s still all in that thread, so if you skip a few pages you’ll find this year’s stuff.

Thats what I was thinking, which is why locking and not pinning will be the way to go.

Offline When the date comes, I will lock it, but not pin it. As mmm said, when it doesn’t get new posts it will naturally fall back a few pages in that section of the forum as other threads are commented on and/or created (ie, it will get “buried” and not seen by most folks).

Why would this thread by any different from all the others? Better to be an authentic capsule and wander into derailment than some false idealistic version of what looks better.
