I thought that this line was quite funny:

learn to use the feckin lingo

But, might that come across as a bit hostile? I know that’s not what you meant it to be; I think it’s the way it’s phrased.

Maybe if we sing it in a certain way, we can make it friendly-sounding? 

Sorry I’ve been off the forum for the past 3 hours, I decided that since nobody has recorded a proper backing track yet, I thought I’d do it myself, I hope 11 and a half minutes isn’t too short for you guys.

I know it’s preferred that I use sites like YouTube instead of giving out a download but in this case I thought it made a lot more sense.

The things I would like added to the song are vocals, bass guitar, and drums, as well as whatever else you think would fit, but remember, only part 1 has singing in it, parts 2-5 are instrumental. Also, in part 5, I added a section for Martha to play a sax solo and sir walter raleigh to play a piano solo, so be on the lookout for those.

If you can think of a place to fit it, then go ahead. Also, what did you think, did you like the song, I did the backing track and many of the overdubs in one take.

You don’t have to. You see, there are seven rounds of 12 bar blues in there, we could do it this way:

Rounds 1 and 2:

Martha: Sax

Rounds 3 and 4:

Dark Overlord: Guitar

Rounds 5 and 6:

sir walter raleigh: Piano

Round 7:

The Hole Got Fixed: French Horn

I hope The Hole Got Fixed doesn’t mind getting the round where it slows down, he could also try to throw some French horn in elsewhere if he’d like.

Also, if you were curious how I got my Epiphone acoustic guitar to sound like an electric guitar for parts of the song, I first recorded the song using Audacity, then I amplified it to the point where it was clipping, and then I recorded my computer playing back the song, and amplified it so it wasn’t too quiet.

I’ll give a bassline a go if you like.

You need to redo that track with a click track, the timing is all over the place, the 12-bar blues loses beats on the return. I like the first part, that seems ok and the end piece seems ok too. But as a whole its way too long (my audacity had trouble even getting a record track to go because of the massive underruns on a 250+ wav file and my machine is not that slow), so maybe do a retake with a separate click track and cut down the wandering ambient bits. I know it’s a pain but I’ve made the same mistakes and you can’t go back and fix bad timing. Neat trick on the guitar, I’ve used that idea myself.

^^^ I suppose I’ll give it a go and try and come up with something. I’m away at camp for this week, of course, so I can’t really guarantee anything. I’ve got other stuff to finish, as well.
