If you want to stick to users, maybe go with mods, admins and former mods with a walk into history?

Didn’t you already record a BBer theme song, I remember once you showed me a song you recorded that seemed to reference quite a few BBers.

That was for the Appleberry Army (Me, Starr Shine?, ASJ, SPB, Evangeline, WSC), but we can use some of that music if you want!

I have one request, can you do a genuine remix and then do a really shitty one where the only interesting that happens is a massive build-up and then the beat drops. I love laughing at crap remixes.

We can take some things from it but I prefer a more complex chord structure and a longer song with an extended instrumental section, similar to In A Gadda Da Vida, maybe have an intro, then a verse and chorus, then we have a 12 minute solo section, then another verse and chorus before a 5 minute solo section and then another chorus and then the song ends with a Flying -esque outro. Here’s an example of a complex chord structure, although it’s probably not the best example to use:

F#m C# D B Bm D G A Am C A# E B Em C# F#m

If we get overly complex, it will be harder to coordinate across the globe.

I’m all for complicated chord structure, but I don’t think the song should be overly long. We should probably aim for no longer than Let It Be , definitely not WMGGW length, it would just be too complicated to coordinate as SS? said.

Shall we get a list of who is willing to record something (anything!) for this?

I’d be happy to play some electric triangle for the song!

Just kidding! I wish you all the best of luck in creating the song!

Sounds like a fun project – good luck to all.

I think the specific user mentions don’t account for
future members and potential users who quit posting. If we are going for a timeless theme we should stick to mentions of Beatles and qualities of the site, unless we want something more of the present, in which case mentioning as manu users as possible would be the move.

Yeah, that could be a bit dicey. Just a suggestion. Please consider the fact that by mentioning members there are two potential pitfalls – someone could be left out (even by accident) which could lead to hurt feelings or you would end up with a really long song. The latter does not concern me as much as the former. WAC put a lot of work into the lyrics and a few of you have approved of them. But again, please be very considerate of others.

Thanks. mal-evans

I’ve written a little melody around WeepingAtlasCedar’s lyrics – it’s without chords though because I’m not very familiar with them.

Here is a picture of the notes with the lyrics (only the first verse and the chorus)Forum-song.PNGImage Enlarger

And here you can hear me playing the melody on the saxophone.

What do you think? Is it of any use?

Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

It’s not that bad, although I think it can be improved on. Also, you don’t need to play chords, that’s the rhythm guitarist and pianists jobs. Also, I’m kind of embarrassed to say this but I can’t read sheet music, so thanks for giving a link to a performance so I can actually hear it and transcribe it by ear for myself.
