Pah! Who irons towels anyway? They don’t even get wrinkly. 

@Ahhh Girl Thanks awfully for the towels, yesterday I almost tore the linen closet apart looking for a hand towel to dry my hands with. (Don’t worry, I put everything back to rights.) 

Now as the dishes are beginning to pile up 

and as dishes are my spec-i-al-ity, I shall put on a record, don my not-so-dreadful flying gloves, and get scrubbing.  

If you hear someone enthusiastically belting out Kansas City , that’ll be me. I will shut up if someone helps.  

Listen up y’all

I’ll help, SG. When I was in high school, my first job was as a dishwasher in a restaurant. You won’t have to shut up either. Let’s belt out ‘KC/HHH’ as we wash up. And yes, dirty dishes in the sink is a ginormous pet peeve of mine.

I actually don’t mind dirty dishes in the sink that much, but I thought the notice was too funny not to share (and embellish).

Now, I hope we won’t have a case of too many dishwashers in the kitchen… I’m used to going solo, bear with me as I work out this ‘With A Little Help From My Friends ‘ thing. 

I totally get it. Rinsing the dishes and loading the dishwasher is my little OCD activity. Glasses over here, coffee cups there there – what is this fork doing in the knife compartment!!! Maybe we should just take turns instead – an every other day kinda thing.

 

Perhaps… I have a special rule about the cups being loaded back to front and always putting a tea-spoon in a certain spot which is kept sacred to tea-spoons. And many other little idiosyncrasies which I won’t bore you with. This is also why, when someone volunteers to load the dishes for me, I always insist, ‘I’ve got everything taken care of– now shoo!’ This used to be because our old dishwasher was rather finicky and if you didn’t load it just so the dishes wouldn’t come out clean, but even since it was replaced several years ago I kept up the habit because I’m a nut.  

What’s wrong with us? 

Ahhh you can ummm  bring me the dishes, and dry the pots and pans and put them away for me,  and tomorrow we’ll trade duties.  Sound like a plan?

I dont have a dish washer. I leave dishes to soak as it then takes minutes to do them and then leave them to dry.

If anyone wants to do my dishes, housework feel free. I’ll happily spend the time doing something far less tedious. I’ll happily cook. But no singing along to the music as otherwise you will not be alive to eat the food.

Well, if you’re going to be mean about it, I’ll just stay in my room and you can wash yer own ruddy dishes.
