I usually hum and ha when trying to contribute to lists here, but I woke up this morning feeling all decisive so I thought I would get this down quick. As noted in other threads I like all sorts of music; including having almost all of the works of Beethoven (and I have a complete Mozart set), so it’s not just pop/rock etc. However, I do have pretty much the complete works of my top 10 artists on CD now so here are my current favourites:
1 The Beatles Revolver
2 Neil Young Greendale
3 Bruce Springsteen Born To Run
4 Mike Oldfield Amarok
5 Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited
6 ELO El Dorado
7 U2 The Joshua Tree
8 Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
9 Pearl Jam Backspacer
10 Madonna Like A Prayer
I still have a number of albums to listen to, and no doubt my tastes will change by lunch time, but this is not bad for now.
[EDIT] My favourite 10 artists and my favourite album from each

Oh – possibly – but my search skills are rubbish. Apologies in advance for when AG points out how obvious it was

^ Thanks – some interesting selections there. I quite like some of those albums though I suspect they are not on most people’s lists for those artists. Beatles For Sale and Sometime In New York City have had some interesting threads here.

Beatles – currently Revolver
Japan – Tin Drum
Duran Duran – Big Thing
Tears for Fears – Raoul and the Kings of Spain
Oingo Boingo – Boingo
Stevie Wonder – Songs in the Key of Life
Paul Young – Other Voices
The Carpenters – The Singles: 1969–1973
Lou Rawls – When You Hear Lou, You’ve Heard It All
India Arie – Acoustic Soul
Really hard list to put together, as my Top 20 would be easier to list (Alice in Chains , Sting, The Bird and the Bee and a singer-songwriter named Tony Lucca would be on there). Plus I had to leave out the solo outputs.

^ Yes, I left out the solo years as well – but figured Beatles were there already. Good to see another mention for Revolver
I have so many artists I like sitting on a tier just below these ten; including people like The Cars, Roxy Music, Yes, Genesis, The Stones, The Who, Led Zep, Simon & Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, The Kinks; on it goes.

I am just now reading this thread. Call me a bad mod. I admit I often skip threads about rankings, over- and under-rated, best/worst, etc. Now, no one take that as a license to go crazy in one of those types of threads. @Joe or @Zig may be watching .
So, if someone has a good idea of where these posts should be moved, send me a link and I will do my duty.
Also, in future, if there is a thread you see pop up that perhaps already has a nice, established thread, @ me or send me a PM. If you can find the link, that would be helpful, but if you just have a general idea, I’ll do some searching.

Maybe we should create a thread titled “Your Top 10 Top 10 Lists”. Lord knows we have enough of ’em.
People seem to like these things, so I have no objection. One of the ideas befhind this Forum is to have fun. Maybe if we created a category called Top 10 Lists. Then we could toss all of the related threads into it. I don’t have the motivation to do this, but perhaps our resident techie, AG could do it. Hmm? Perhaps?
