Hey friends! I know that I haven't been on for a while… but i have something that has compelled me to come back! I need to know your opinion on what Beatles songs best represent the book Animal Farm, by George Orwell.
Here's what I've already got.
2.Piggies
3.Fool on the Hill (for clover)
So if you've read this (amazing) book please let me know what you think I should do. Thanks!

god, I love that book.
Are you doing an arts project on it or something?
"Now and then, though, someone does begin to grow differently. Instead of down, his feet grow up toward the sky. But we do our best to discourage awkward things like that."
"What happens to them?" insisted Milo.
"Oddly enough, they often grow ten times the size of everyone else," said Alec thoughtfully, "and I’ve heard that they walk among the stars."

I'm actually doing a reading project. My teacher wants me to do an album with songs that go along with characters and themes from the book. I chose to do all Beatles songs.
And it is an amazing book! I love it too.

Great topic. Using the 4 Beatles themselves you can develop the idea of whether people can truly be equal. After all, in many ways the 4 Beatles were equal and tried to be equal. But at the same time, “some were more equal than others” ….
Somewhere in your Introduction, you can also make mention of all the animals in Beatle songs; check out the “White Album as an animal farm” thread.

JaiGuruDevaOm, YES!!!! It's short and always quoted. It was written when the Beatles were just toddlers. Animals are used as a parody/metaphor for human society.

It's not about the Beatles. But it's rumored that Piggies was inspired by the book. And you absolutely must read it. Its a fable and it's amazing.

Actually it's a parody/metaphor/allegory for the Russian Revolution .

I tried to read the book but found it quite dull.
You may find it dull at one time. But you need to think about it from the perspective of the allegory. It makes it easier to look at the Russian Revolution and understand it. An it makes total sense to find it dull, I know a lot of kids in my class that found it boring. But when you get into it you may just love it!

Great book. You could certainly find aspects of both “Piggies ” and “Revolution ” in there, although Orwell was surely talking about a different Revolution than was in the air in '68. I suppose “Fool On The Hill” could apply tangentially to Clover – she was the vain, silly hair-ribbon-obsessed pony wasn't she? “Yesterday “, afraid I don't see the connection to that one at all.

This is my favourite book ever (besides 1984)! It’s weird because, again I’m 13 but anyway, Piggies definitely.

I’d say Back In The USSR because animal farm is about communism.
