After reading this whole thread, it’s obvious I’m not into much of the same music (with the exception of The Beatles and a couple of others (Aerosmith, Rush)).
Having said that…
First album purchase:
Montrose (debut)
Latest album purchased:
Koritni: Night Goes On For Days
Seems like I haven’t strayed far from the path, but I have. My collection is actually quite varied.
But I don’t have a single Dylan record.

The day that B.B. King died, I bought his final album off Amazon. Stupid me accidentally had it shipped to an address that I haven’t lived at since 2011. I didn’t realize that until after it was shipped. I had my mom go over to our old house and get it for me.
I just ordered this single-disc album of both of The Graham Bond Organisation’s albums. Unfortunately, the cheapest copy was in England, so it might take weeks to get here.
All three albums are on CD.
Stupid me did the same stupid thing again. The Graham Bond Organization album is going to the address that I haven’t lived at since 2011 (it’s shipping from England, hence the slow shipping speed). It’s estimated to get there on Wednesday the fifteenth, but the problem is that I made prior plans and will be nowhere near the house that it’s shipping to (just like last time). So I’m going to have to talk some relative into having that horrendously awkward talk with the current occupants (again), all the while feeling very guilty about it (again).
By the way (for my own sanity), I finally deleted that old address out of my address book.
One week after the last estimated shipping date, it still has not arrived. I’ve decided to cut my losses and walk away, rather than file a claim.
I ordered the same from Amazon today. This time, it’s shipping from America. This is probably awful logic, but I see it as a good sign, because maybe it’s less likely to get lost in the mail this time if it’s shipping from the same country I live in (like I said, awful logic). At the very least, if it does arrive this time, it’ll arrive a lot quicker.

I just bought the entire official Led Zeppelin catalogue, including Blu-Rays and DVDs.
How many of them did you have before?
I have had about half and I’m wondering if I should take the plunge as well; so I’m curious if anyone in the same boat has done this and if they think it was worth it after watching / listening.

I owned or at one time owned 5 of the 9 studio albums. I haven’t finished listening to everything but I’m already glad I did it.
Thanks for the update – that was about the number I had.

I just got Beatles For Sale on CD1987 or 2009?
2009 and Harry Chapin greatest stories live
Hi @Starr Shine?. I was thinking of Harry Chapin today and remembered this post and thought you might enjoy this (not Beatles related but it is about spreading good vibes). I saw him in the late 70s at a Stop Hunger outdoor benefit at Stanford University. The “ticket” to get in was a can of food. He was playing solo and I remember when he sang Taxi he taught the females in the crowd to sing the falsetto part (it was funny and poignant at the same time). Anyway there was about 20 or 30 frat guys crowded at the front of the stage. They were all wrestling around while drinking beer and generally creating a rowdy scene while Harry was trying to play. Finally after a few songs Harry jumped off the stage right in the middle of these guys. We didn’t know what he was going to do and then we realized he was joining them. He had a beer and sat on the grass chatting for a while. Eventually he got back on stage and continued the show. I don’t know what he said but the frat guys calmed down and listened to his music. His way of handling the situation was just so cool. I heard the song Tangled Up Puppet for the first time that day which later became my favorite of his (maybe because I have 2 daughters). It’s kind of hard to find a live version of it but there is one on youtube buried in this Tonight Show clip at the 7:00 minute mark.

In the last couple of weeks: the new John Grant album; Pipes Of Peace and Tug Of War reissues; SEXWITCH; David Bowie/Five Years box set; and I’ve just ordered a couple of Rough Trade exclusives – Father John Misty solo acoustic in-store, and John Grant live with an orchestra (not the BBC Philharmonic one). Some good listening, all on vinyl.

I went on a bit of a “catch-up” spree today.
A couple of the purchases:
Elton John Classic Albums on CD – the 5 albums leading up to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (which I already have).
The DG History of Classical Music (the recently released 24-CD set and not the 100-CD version). It fills in some of the holes from composers I inadvertently left behind in the move of house – as well as having a good sampling of medieval and modern music which were relative gaps in my previous collection. It’s an interesting box with mostly complete works (apart from some opera excerpts) and has been getting very good reviews. Great value at around $4 per CD.

That’s a nice boxset, the Elton John one! I know people who don’t like any EJ beyond Madman Across The Water, that’s how hardcore they are, the rest is commercialized rubbish according to them 😀
I haven’t bought music lately, I have a bunch of CD’s on my Discogs wishlist but I won’t be doing anything until the new year and even then I’m planning on saving my bucks for musical equipment.

I don’t–I’d rather buy the mono vinyl box-set, a turntable, a pair of noise-cancelling headphones, and a couple dozen expensive and fabulous guitars and basses. Because I imagine you could purchase all that with the money it’d take to buy Ringo’s copy.

I have feeling that if you had the kind of $ it wouod take to buy Ringo’s White, you’d be able to afford it and all the other stuff you mentioned.
I wonder if Paul will buy Ringo’s copy?
