I just rented a Sgt. Pepper CD a few days ago from a library. I haven’t been able to actually buy any albums, since I mainly listen to music through my IPod…
I hope you’re not in the UK and using that cd for anything other than playing on a cd player.

I said I’d been buying vinyl for *about* 35 years, but I think it’s just about true. My first single was this one, which came out in 1980 (I was born in 1976). I have impeccable taste.
I actually still have the EP at home. The cover of Life On Mars? is hilarious – this gentle children’s singer doing the line “Take a look at the lawman beating up the wrong guy…” I probably wanted it for the Star Wars theme though – I wish I could claim to have been a Bowie fan at that age!
I remember my older brother buying the Antmusic single (also 1980) and feeling very jealous, so probably wanted my own records soon after. IDK though – it’s hard to remember what I might have bought myself vs what was given to me for Christmas/birthdays. I obviously didn’t have much money back then, but would have been given a few coins Now And Then (a single like that would have been about 49p or 99p, so not much). I’ve been buying music as long as I can remember though. My son is four and he has a piggy bank which some of our spare change goes in to, and it’s quite likely I had something similar.
The first albums I bought were the Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat OST and Thriller, both 1982. And yes, I still have them. I’ve thrown out a lot of CDs over the years but have kept virtually all the vinyl.

That’s hilarious Joe!
I honestly do not remember my first album I bought, but guess it was the Red Album 1962-1966. Either I bought it, or it was my brothers, but either way, I was hooked on the Beatles ever since. Since it came out in 1973, I would have been 10 years old!
But my 3 teenage sisters were playing Beatles record when I was born!!
BEATLES Music gives me Eargasms!

I believe the first single i ever bought was ‘(You Got It) The Right Stuff’ by New Kids On The Block (before they became NKB). Tho i had a couple of others at the time i think i was given them (far too embarrassing to admit what they were).
First album was the Beatles ‘Blue Album ‘, no doubt about that.

This afternoon, I was shopping for vinyls with my friend when I found an original Help ! in mono on Parlophone. It was only $20.

The Essential John Denver, because I dreamed about John Denver last night.
I bought that a while back; it’s a 2CD version – I enjoyed the first but haven’t got around to the second disc yet.

I haven’t bought these, but I kind of want to buy the Led Zeppelin deluxe reissues. I have only heard four of their nine studio albums.
I’ve heard about six and am similarly tempted.

Somehow I saw LZ live more than any band, other than Clapton’s many re-incarnations.
Loved the first 3 albums…..
Can only take so much of Plant’s vocals. No one else could sing those songs though.
Last night when I played it before sleeping …….I realised with a shock that the last physical album/CD I’ve bought was Chet Baker Live in Japan and that was from nearly two years ago…..
I guess I’ve got enough music……..At my age you don’t buy too many Long Playing Records……Iron too many shirts or buy green bananas.
