Ha! Yes, @Ron Nasty, it is roughly chronological. I used to order them by artist first and then by release, but that got too awkward trying to figure out which artists should come first, and so (being the chronology nut that I am) I just went ahead and lined them up by release date. (More or less.)Thank you very much @Tony Japanese.
So THAT’S how you remember all those album-release dates!!!!
Sounds like a rather complicated system, but effective. I organize mine by artist in alphabetical order and then chronologically for each artist.

Ha, no, I actually put them on my calendar and it gives me a notification on the appropriate day. I usually remember most of them anyway — that’s how I’m able to keep them in order. My brain is like a mad scientist’s laboratory which is insanely cluttered and disorganised but yet I, the mad scientist, know where everything is like the back of my hand.

It should be noted there’s a shocking lack of Hendrix, Joplin and Clapton, along with two of Bowie’s biggest influences, Robert Zimmerman and the Velvet Underground. A Bowie collector without the Velvet’s albums? That way madness lies!!!!

I’ve always been mad, I know I’ve been, like most of us have.
It’s very hard to explain why you’re mad, even if you’re not mad.

Picked up an LP copy of cult classic and regularly memed-about In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel today.
… which I’m using to calm myself over the fact that frontman Jeff Mangum appeared in public for the first time in years at a climate protest in NYC last week… and I walked past that very protest having no idea he was there

Oh, Django Reinhardt! I’ve never listened to him, but I like him by default because, y’know, Django 🙂
This is him with the Hot Club and Stephane Grapelli….
On 2 mins or so long……and only 2 fingers that work due to the caravan fire when he was young…..
It’s got that beat I like but no drums……

A new Vinyl purchase, I’m quite proud of; Ringo Starr ‘s Time Takes Time (The Green Vinyl Version). This is one of my all time favorite Beatles Solo albums, and a new gem in my Beatles record collection. I have plans to buy album frames to decorate my new record room, and this will probably be one of the ones that gets put up on the wall. It would be cool to see if I can collect the Red and Yellow copies as well. I know they are on amazon, and that might be where I get them.
Something that made buying this record kinda cool, is that the guy that checked me out at the store was a descent Ringo fan, and was very happy to see someone buying Ringo records. We were able to talk Ringo a bit while he rung up my purchase.

Bought a few used CDs (plus one sealed) while out of town yesterday – more of the usual 1960s jazz (semi-avant garde, except for the Messengers, which is more in the hard-bop bag), so you can be sure I’ll see what the Beatles were up to when these were recorded, and provide links when I choose to listen )
Ornette album (the one I bought new) was done as soundtrack music to an art-film, and features Ornette’s trio augmented by Pharoah Sanders, plus some orchestration, apparently, although none of the music was used in the final movie (director thought it was too beautiful to accompany the images.) Ultimately Ravi Shankar supplied the final score; both he and Ornette make cameo appearances in the film.

Belated birthday present?
Qman, your birthday is in April, no? Which is three months away? That’s an early birthday present.
