Greatest Hits – Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band (1994, recorded 1976-1994)
Necko, have you ever heard Bob Seger’s early stuff – the singles he did as Bob Seger and the Last Heard, and the Bob Seger System albums and other pre-SilverBullet recordings he did under his own name between 1966 and ’73? It’s a true shame Bob has never authorized the reissue of more than a handful of those tracks!
Yeah, I have. I just don’t own it.
I'm Necko. I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.
I'm also ewe2 on weekends.
Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.

Time to break Necko’s streak of new album posts with one of my own.
Today I got a really good copy of John Lennon /Plastic Ono Band still in the shrink wrap.
Then I got like 5 Beatles/Solo 45’s
Twist And Shout /There’s A Place
Paul: Say Say Say/Ode To A Koala Bear
George: Got My Mind Set On You/Lay His Head
Ringo: Oh My My/Step Lightly
Then I got these records for Free.
I already have this Billy Joel album, but I saw this copy with no jacket and so I decided to give it a home.
I got these two 45’s for free because they were broken. The first one had a crack in it, which I snapped back into place, and the second one has a descent chip in the runin groove that extends a bit into the beginning of the song.
I found this really nice copy of America’s Holiday which I’m almost positive was put in the free section by mistake, but I didn’t ask questions, I just took it.
The record store owner said I should listen to this and gave it to me for free!(actaully I’m sure he was just trying to get rid of it and knew I’d take it.
I also pulled these out of the free section
I pulled this one out of the free section as well. I had seen it there before and I wondered why I hadn’t grabbed it before. Then I got home and realized it wasn’t Simon And Garfunkel performing it, which is why I didn’t grab it before….

Physical Graffiti – Led Zeppelin
The Beatles Talk Down Under – (some sort of record with different interviews and press conferences from the ’64 Australian tour)
45s:
The Ballad Of John And Yoko /Old Brown Shoe
Those Were The Days/Turn Turn Turn – Mary Hopkin (The seller of a few of the 45s threw this one in)
On 8-Track:
All Things Must Pass (but only the Apple Jam)

Well, I finally paid back the £9 from DSOTM and got this with the change:
George Harrison – 33 & 1/3 (1976)
I almost bought both Red Rose Speedway and Ringo’s Rotogravure, but instead settled for this (perhaps I should get those next time). Also, my nan gave me this a few weeks back, and I’m only posting about it now:
Eddie Cochran – The Eddie Cochran Memorial Album (1963, recorded 1959 – 1960)

Yesterday I bought Wings Greatest. It came with the 2 sided poster, but the record had a tiny hairline crack in the runin groove and the beginning of another day, but it’s not that horrid.
I got 3 Eagles 45’s
Then I pulled these from the free section.

Today I got Give My Regards To Broad Street . Yes the Paul one, yes I may have spend a bit on it, but it was in AMAZING condition. It might even be better than my copy of McCartney II , and I didn’t think that second hand records could come in much better condition than that. Also I kinda like the GMRTBS soundtrack.
I also got 2 45’s
Then there was a bunch of jacketless albums added to the free section. I took a few of them.
And here’s some other stuff from the free section.

I like the blind people record but please use smaller sizes for your images, they’re so big that you cant x them out and if I am viewing the image and the top piece goes off screen, I have to refresh the page.

I’ve recently been given Sgt Pepper and Revolver on vinyl. But I’ve bought Led Zeppelin IV and also The Stone Roses’ Self Titled. Any other Stone Roses fans here?

That’s so cool that you were given not just 2 Beatles albums, but 2 of The Beatles best albums, Revolver and Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band. I have to ask, what version are these, my guess would be original Capitol pressings (not sure if it’s mono or stereo), but I can’t be sure. Beatles records are so cute and adorable, even more cuter than a baby with a puppy.
As for The Stone Roses, they’re not bad but I definitely wouldn’t call myself a fan. I prefer 60’s and 70’s rock like The Beatles, The Beach Boys , Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Elton John, among others, so I’m not that interested in anything released from the 80’s onwards, although some if it is good music.

A cassette,
The Best Of The Mersey Beat – Various Artists.
There’s a few Beatley numbers on it (How Do You Do It , Got To Get You Into My Life , and Do You Want To Know A Secret .) done by a bunch of bands.
It’s pretty good music.
My favourite song may be Ferry Cross The Mersey by Gerry & The Pacemakers.
I paid 1.08 cents for it. (Which is ridiculous for a cassette. )

They sure spread out their Beatles numbers. It’s funny because I don’t even consider Got To Get You Into My Life to be a Merseybeat song, I think the genre is more so pop rock and Motown, which thanks to Ron Nasty I know is a proper genre and not just a record company that produced pop music.

I’m pretty sure the songs have nothing to do with the title of the cassette. It’s all about where the bands came from. So basically most of the bands that came over from Liverpool after the Beatles paved the way are on the tape.
