Today has been a great day for me becauseI bought my first vinyl!!!
It’s David Bowie’s Scary Monsters And Super Creeps
But that wasn’t the only good thing, I was actually also able to play the Vinyl. Now that may sound weird but our record player was broken and I didn’t expect to be able to fix it but apparently, I was. It sounds fantastic!
Additionally, I borrowed these discs from the library:
In Rainbows-Radiohead, Magic Bus:The Who on Tour-The Who, Compilation of The Who Hits, Yellow Submarine -The Beatles, Ok Computer-Radiohead, Kid A-Radiohead, A Lamb Lies Down On Broadway-Genesis, Compilation of Led Zeppelin Hits (they had no albums, unfortunately), Bruckner Fifth Symphony

Nice @Martha My Dear! It’s cool to see you joining the Vinyl game! You have quite the adventure ahead.
Today I bought another copy of the The Beatles. This one is a 1976 Capitol issue. The album title is printed instead of beveled. It also has an orange capitol label.
Then I bought Ringo Starr No No Song/Snookaroo 45
Then I got these records from the free section.

So do I! That’s why I bought it. I got it at this place called Vegas Vinyls, however this was the only copy. I just happened to find it and had to buy it .

Ah gotcha…. I was wondering if you had bought it online! I’ve been meaning to pop into a record store near me. If there’s a chance I can find a gem like you found, then I am definitely going soon!

Yeah you can find all kinds of crazy things at a local record shop. I’ve been able to find 3 Paul promos, and one was a German import. If you go through this thread you can see all the records I’ve bought, starting with my first one, RAM. All have them except like 5 have been from the Vegas Vinyls shop.

I too think you’ve got a nice little selection there, @Martha. I’m interested to know what you think of Led Zeppelin!

Thanks! The funny thing @WeepingAtlasCedars is, that I have never listened to Led Zeppelin before I visited the Forum. Then I saw you were really into Led Zeppelin and thought I should give it a try because I like discovering new music. So, I listened to the album Led Zeppelin on Deezer and (apart from the advertisement after three songs) it was MINDBLOWING!!! Especially Babe I’m Gonna Leave You… That’s why I was sad there were no albums in the library.
Could you recommend some other albums of them to me?
I must say, you all have such a good influence on me, without you I would not listen to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin or the Stones

I actually saw this album in the free record rack in pretty good condition and I almost grabbed it, but then I saw that it was only the first disc so I put it back.
I wish I had bought this one when there was still a copy in the store, but maybe there will be another copy in the near future.
This one is always like $30+, so I’ll get this one if I can find one at a lower price.

Wow, thanks @Dark Overlord this is very nice of you! I don’t know some of the listed albums yet so I will definitely put them on my albums-to-discover-in-spring-break-list (and listen to them of course)!
Have an apple tree for your help!

Sure! Okay, hmm, let me think here. I’m not really sure exactly what you like, you see.
Why not try them in chronological order?

You rejected a free Elton John record, for that price I would’ve taken it and burned disc 2 onto vinyl myself with a blank record and a record cutter and eve if I didn’t have the materials necessary to do that, I would’ve just taken the record anyways. Seems odd that your record store gives away some of it’s records though instead of charging a discounted price.
If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

A double record that’s missing one of its records is worthless. (Unless a record from another set of the same LP is found.) My first White Album was similar, it was missing its 1st disc.

It may not have much financial value, but should the disc it has have music that’s wanted but not owned, then that gives it a worth in itself to someone.
