The second was a pressing of Sgt. Pepper with, surprisingly enough, grayish/pink marbled vinyl that I very lovingly named Billy. A cute name, isn’t it?
Billy Shears?
Interesting thought, that– it never occurred to me to name records, though I done see why it’s any different than calling your Fender Strat ‘Rocky’.

I actually forgot about that when I named it. I dunno, I guess the name just appeared and I chose it. Odd…

Huh. I always thought that record naming was an average kind of thing to do, but I s’pose not. Interesting.
And I’ve actually got another record that I named as well: a ’71 pressing of Led Zeppelin IV named Sheldon. (I loved it and called it the first thing that came to mind.)

I’m sure your subconscious knew what it was doing.

also i mentioned the john renbourn vinyl in the “what are you listening to right now?” thread on record store day

I got a first pressing of Magical Mystery Tour .
The Grand Illusion, by Styx.
Rubber Soul (someone had used fiberglass tape on the jacket!)
First pressing of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. There’s something wrong with it though, it’s missing the “with” in “With A Little Help From My Friends “
Edit: By “missing” I mean the word isn’t printed on the label in the middle of the record.

I finally bought something that wasn’t Elvis. I bought the “Chorus” 5-CD box set by Lush, and their new EP, “Blind Spot.”
Oh yeah, and I got Flying Saucer Attack, “2015 Instrumentals.”
Other things that are not Elvis that I’ve bought recently…I’m collecting all of the CDs that go in the Phil Collins “Take a Look At Me Now” box set.

At an estate sale I bought The Carpenter’s singles.
Very good condition. Great female vocals that completley take over the sound. So clear and beautiful.
I also picked up Gordon Lightfoot’s Sundown

Chicago Vll, the cover is really neat, it looks and feels like embossed leather. The Mamas & The Papas Greatest Hits
When I was really into Chicago, I recall being excited each time an album came out, because for at least the first eight, each album was a different “material”.
Chicago 1 – a wood plank painted with the Chicago logo
Chicago 2 – blue steel with the Chicago logo carved into the steel
Chicago 3 – A cloth flag, red white and blue and tattered (ooh, deep symbolism for a nation in shreds!), and as always, the Chicago logo dyed on
Chicago 4 – white stone with the Chicago logo carved in
Chicago 5 – what looks like an unfinished wood fence, with the Chicago logo carved in so you can see The Inner Light wood contrasting with the outer darker wood finish
Chicago 6 – paper money bill, faded beige backing and blue ink, with the Chicago logo printed on and pictures of all band members
Chicago 7 – the “leather” cover
Chicago 8 – what looks like a needlepoint tapestry of a bird in bright red, green and yellow threads on a black background, with the Chicago logo woven in
Chicago 9 – a giant chocolate bar, half unwrapped, with the Chicago logo carved into the chocolate
I think my favorite is the paper money one.

I got Johnny’s Rock ‘N’ Roll and Pink Floyd’s The Wall (which I have to share with my mum ), both on CD.
My mum also got The Tragically Hip’s Road Apples on CD as well, if that’s of any interest.
