I recently purchased 3 (vinyl) albums, Wings At The Speed Of Sound , Toto IV, and Styx Paradise Theater. They’re making friends with the half of my White Album .

Well, you know how low numbers on the White Album cover are valuable?  Evangeline has #0000000.5.

Here’s hoping the half you have finds its mate in the near future, @Evangeline.

I haven’t purchased any music in a while. Not since Spotify came into my life, and due to the fact that I have a good sized collection of music already on my hard drive. But the last thing I purchased must have been a couple of Christmas albums off Amazon Digital in December.

Yep, I found it in somebody’s trash  and took it, not until later did I realize that It was missing the record with Rocky Raccoon and Martha My Dear on it. ( it’s number 0374575, not that low.)

Edit: it’s also missing the collage

I also haven’t bought any cd’s in a long time either. Nothing has appealed. I was given ‘1+’ by nice Mr Santa Claus.

I guess this solves the issue for the folks around these parts who think it should have been a single album in the first place 😉

I just picked up a 2 CD and one DVD set of Glenn Gould playing Bach. The DVD is him (Gould, not Bach) performing the Goldberg Variations.

[EDIT] For those who don’t know, Gould was as close to a rock star as the classical world has. He was very idiosyncratic in his playing and behaviour and attracted a lot of publicity and a wide following. He even died (relatively) young – though I have no idea how his corpse looked.

I bought a US first pressing of Let It Be for 10 dollars. I also bought Somewhere In England for 5.

The Let It Be album might be one of the notorious counterfeits. It’s missing the IAM triangle, but it has the “bell sound” mark.

I Think that Rolling Stone should do a cover story of The Rolling Stones covering "Like a Rolling Stone" or if a Type of Beetle was named after The Beatles.

I bought an  “Introducing The Beatles” on a label call Vee-Jay. The guy who sold it to me said it could be pretty valuable. (I only bought it for the listening experience). It’s also not a counterfeit.

Also “Meet The Beatles”.

And finally…”The White Album “. It looks like a dog chewed it to pieces, but it has all the inserts and the records are in good condition. (I bought it to complete my half).

Edit: I purchased a single of “What Is Life ” and “Apple Scruffs ” by George Harrison

And a Beatles magazine from 1964.

Just bought a CD set of eight Dean Martin albums and was especially excited to listen to Dino Latino since I think Spanish is mucho divertido, but none of the songs are really even in Spanish.paul-mccartney

I just bought another Classical box (surprise surprise). it’s a 50 CD set from SONY called 50 Great Recordings and it was only AU$90 delivered (about US$70 / 50 pounds).

This one had me in a bit of a quandary, since I already have 6 of the CDs in the box. It’s the first time I have bought a box with more than 2 duplicates in it**. I also have around 14 CDs where I already have one or more of the pieces of music. So that leaves around 30 CDs of new music, with around 20 of the CDs which I really really like the look of.

Now, a box of 20-30 CDs at that price would normally be amazing – but there is something about those duplicates which annoys me. Maybe I just need to focus on the fact that I am getting lots of amazing new music at a crazy cheap price. And think about how much a deluxe ‘1’ box costs.

** All up, including this purchase, I only have 13 duplicates across a collection which now numbers somewhere north of 1500 classical CDs in more than 20 large boxes and lots of smaller boxes and single CDs.
