Yikes, where to start LennonCloset?
With the exception of Hendrix, Cream, and Zeppelin, most of the major bands of the ’60s can be played on the beach with a guitar – and I did.
I still have my acoustic “beach” guitar – sand and all.
Stones (As Tears Go By), Dylan (Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright), Simon and Garfunkel (Sounds of Silence, America, Homeward Bound), Donovan (Colours), Kinks (Well Respected Man), Beach Boys (Sloop John B), Lovin’ Spoonful (Daydream), Mamas and the Papas (California Dreamin’), Animals (House of the Rising Sun) ….
Beatles? Yes, Hey Jude ; also Yesterday , Can’t Buy Me Love , And I Love Her
These by and large have straighforward chords (no sus 4, diminished this, augmented that,…)
These days you can easily get chords and lyrics on line.
Keep us posted!

Haha, unknown! Sadly, I know that song by heart… But what do you expect from someone who spends their free time imagining themselves living a happy, Yoko Ono free life with John Lennon ?

Walrus, that’s great.
Sounds like McCartney could have written it (and vetoed by Lennon, so it didn’t show up until Venus And Mars instead of “Lonely Old People”….)

Run For Your Life would be great at a public beach!

Though this is technically not “on the beach” but rather at a campfire at night in the Rocky Mountains (at the Colorado ranch of music producer James William Guercio), it has a “strumming at the beach” feel to it:
Faded flowers, wait in a jar, till the evening is complete... complete... complete... complete...

Although it is not a great Beatles’ song, this is a great sing-along-at-the-beach Beatles’ song: “All Together Now .” It has easy chords, a steady acoustic strum, nonsense words that sound good with “gang” vocals… come to think of it, it sounds like it was written on the spot, at the beach, around a campfire, under the influence, in between bites of a toasted marshmallow…

Joe’s page says the song was written for the Yellow Submarine film and that The Beatles completed the song in a six-hour session. So it was completed on the spot (quickly) and had to do with a a cartoon/film about something in the sea and many seas have beaches so you may be partially right. The under the influence part may be true too.
Can buy Joe love! Amazon | iTunes
