I couldn’t find a username and I was thinking “well, it’s just me”. So I typed in “Me”, but then I thought “Hey, I Me Mine ! It’s a Beatles song AND it means exactly what I want!”. That’s where my username comes from.

Well, mine is pretty boring: I’m a doctor (PhD) and the Beatles have always been my all-time favorite band. Plus, my first name is Drew, which starts with D and R, so DrBeatle is me trying to be a bit playful with it as well.

There’s a similar thread buried somewhere in these hallowed pages, but here goes…Many moons ago, my friends threw a party for my 14th birthday. Long story short, I consumed multiple adult beverages and proceeded to play David Bowie’s album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars ad nauseam. From that point on, my nickname has been Zig.
It’s been almost 36 years since that event and to this day there are many people who still don’t know my real name and know me only as Zig.
Lol I just always thought your actual name IS Zig. Mind is blown.
So my username is Linde, but my real name is actually…nah my real name is just Linde. I just tried out if it wasn’t taken already (which has been the case in the past on a few other forums) and it wasn’t, so I decided to take it. I always hated being spoken to as ”xlindee” or ”xLindeH_94” or things like that. Using my own name was just me being simple and keepin’ it real yo!

I couldn’t think of a Beatles related name I liked, and I liked how that one member always comes up as a guest, so I went with unknown. It’s also kind of a reference to a quote by Ronald Rumsfield my dad had on his fridge for the longest time, that always intrigued me as a kid.
“There are known knowns; there are things we know that we know.
There are known unknowns; that is to say, there are things that we now know we don’t know.
But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don’t know.”

I’m a big Paul George fan and I always liked his song dedicated to the Apple Scruffs and somebody had already picked Apple Scruff as a username and as I’m quite a young fan (especially on this forum) I just took Junior after my name you see And thus AppleScruffJunior was born

Oh I love that quote! Certainly is intriguing.

“1960, John Lennon changed the name of his group to Long John Silver and the Silver Beetles, himself taking the stage name of Long John Silver. In August 1960, they changed it again to simply The Beatles.”
And it kind of reminds of some really cheap porn actor nickname.

Linde – probably a daft question, but how do you pronounce your name? Linda? Lindee? (Sorry for ignorance)

That’s not a daft question at all and I’m glad you ask. I used to be on this other forum and when I met some of the members of it in real life one of them called me ”Lind” because she thought the e was silent. LIND! *facepalm* So I rather have people ask me how to pronounce it, instead of calling me things like Linda, Lindy or Lind.
Anyway, no you don’t pronounce it either way. That’s why I said, ”as in Lindentree”. You just cut of the ”ntree” and then that’s how you pronounce my name, so you kinda get an ”uhh” sound at the end.

Great! then I pronounce it right in my mind, as if it was German.
Great – thanks for the explanation! My guess was “Linda”, so I wasn’t that far off (is there a difference in pronunciation between Linda and Linduh? I’d probably say them much the same way).

Yeah it does sound kind of similar but there’s a slight difference. Linda does have more of an ”ahh” tone at the end, while my name is slightly more ”uhh”. It’s not like LindUHHHHH or something, but there’s just a slight difference.
I assumed it was one syllable, like “Lind”. I bet it’s like the “e” endings of the German names Rilke and Goethe.
