I mean, I understand with some of you…it’s very obvious! There are some pretty cool names out there & I’d love to know the story behind them!
My name is Trudy…my family and friends have always called me “Trude”. When I was a kid, kids at school thought it hilarious to sing to me…”Hey Trude, don’t make it bad…..” (my family spells it “Trud” tho) …thus my name. I never minded their singing at school…being a Beatles fan as far back as I can remember

I just decided on a stupid nickname that would sound catchy, the only part I succeeded on was stupid. Not much story behind mine though there are some I wish I used. I really wish I stuck a nine somewhere in mine.

My name actually started out as bj after my first two initials. Then someone on this board (I can’t remember who unfortunately) suggested I change it to bjway after one of my favourite songs. I also later realized that bj also stands for something else I didn’t really want to be associated with.

- Paul is my favourite Beatle (obviously)
- RAM is my favourite McCartney album
- Long Haired Lady is my favourite song on RAM
- I am a female, thus I am a “Lady”
- My hair really is quite long, it falls just a few inches above my waist
There is my over-explanation. Great idea for a thread! Some names I am quite curious about.
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Have you ever had a letter addressed to you with “Dear Trudence”… ?

I thought long and hard about my name. I wanted something different, so I thought about what phrase in a Beatles song would NOT be usually chosen, or be the first thing that comes to someone’s mind.
Years ago, when I particpated in the “Macca Central” forum (for Paul McCartney fans), I called myself “Scrambled Eggs” (a reference I’m sure I don’t need to explain to you Beatlemaniacs…).

I think mine is one of the obvious ones
Wish I’d spent more time trying to think of a better one now I’ve seen some other people’s. I just typed the first thing that came to me.

Bjway – I have to say that I immediately knew what your name meant and DIDN’T think of “that” other reference! LOL
Funny Paper – Nope! Never got a letter “Dear Trudence”…but that would be cool!
Great hearing everyone’s answers and helps me to get to know you better too

There’s a similar thread buried somewhere in these hallowed pages, but here goes…
Many moons ago, my friends threw a party for my 14th birthday. Long story short, I consumed multiple adult beverages and proceeded to play David Bowie’s album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars ad nauseam. From that point on, my nickname has been Zig.
It’s been almost 36 years since that event and to this day there are many people who still don’t know my real name and know me only as Zig.
