But I hate French. But that could be because the one French dominated province (State to you Americans), Quebec, always talks of separating from the rest of the country, so I link the Language to the idiots.

(And an apology if I seem way to interested in the idiocy of people who want to separate.)
I live on the Quebec-Ontario border, so I have a good base. For the Country, we learn both French and English, as they are both official languages. But, west of Ottawa, not many people speak French in the home. However, the reverse is true in Quebec. Outside of the two main cities (Montreal and Quebec City, English is non-existent. Many famous clashes have occurred over language, especially in Montreal. The most famous one would have been the Richard Riot, in which a French player was unjustly suspended by an evil English speaker. And, if the Bloc Quebecois gets there way, French may become the only language of Quebec. But they are a subject of a much different rant, which can be accessed by request.

Well I'm used to that with Spanish, there are different verb forms for each person. Example:
Yo escucho a los Beatles.
Tu escuchas a los Beatles
El / Ella escucha a los Beatles
Nosotros escuchamos a los Beatles
Ustedes escuchan a los Beatles
I studied French a bit and yeah it was very hard.

That's interesting. I have a friend who lives in Ontario, and she only speaks English. So, I guess it makes more sense now.
That's the typical Canadian.

lmfao. I was looking at the verb phrases, and I remember going over those in Spanish class. At least I know what you're talking about.
But they say that English is one of the harder languages to learn becuase it has so many rules. I love the English language, despite how simple it is. It just fits for my brain capacity.

I live in Alberta, and oddly enough, I've never had to learn French in school. For some reason, it was mandatory to learn Mandarin Chinese and Spanish at my school… But at the school I attend now, we don't have to take languages because it's a sport school.
And don't get me started on the Quebec sovereignty debate… I've had to write far too many essays on that.

That's because there's a larger population of Spanish speaking people to say the least. Forty-nine percent of LA is Hispanic, so I should jump on the bandwagon. And there is a belief (and correct me if I'm wrong) that the Chinese are going to take up a large commercial population, so it'd be wise to know the language.

It does make sense. I just find it interesting that practically every other student in primary or middle school in Canada had to learn French, but we didn't. Maybe because it was a private school and they were looking in the same direction you are there. Spanish was a lot of fun to learn, it's too bad I've forgotten a lot of it…

Haha, well, in America (or at least…Southern Californian Catholic schools) we have a choice. I'm graduating (going to high school next year) this year, and it's the first year that they had Spanish. But at my high school, they have Spanish, French, and Italian. Then at my cousin's school, they have Latin, and Chinese, but no Spanish.
