8. I’m a Buddhist/Hindu
Quite different belief systems/religions there.
Hinduism= soul is immortal, you reap what you sow in past lives.
Buddhism= No immortal soul, yes life is bad but you don’t get good/bad karma from ‘past lives’ as you never had one.
Hinduism= Quite a lot of gods.
Buddhism= ….why should we look for a ‘God ‘ if there is no proof of there being one?
And those are just 2 of the core differences between the two of them.
I imagine you like meditation and-slash-or yoga. But that don’t a Buddhist/Hindu make .
Have a read of the ‘core texts’ for both religions and see if you subscribe to their beliefs.
Peace and love

Thanks! I consider myself for if a Buddhist but since I’m still a teen I haven’t officially subscribed to either yet.

I’m part of a religion that is Catholic (called Liberal Catholic–nothing to do with being politically liberal or Roman Catholic) but believes in reincarnation, chakras, and ascended masters. We also don’t believe that Jesus died for our sins and we don’t believe in hell. We are evolving spiritually along the same path that Jesus did.
We see Jesus, Christ, and Jesus Christ as three different things:
1. Jesus, a human being.
2. Christ, the second person of the Trinity, coeternal and consubstantial with the father.
3. Jesus Christ, the union of the two.
We believe that Jesus Christ gave us the ceremonies of the church as a means of quickening our spiritual evolution.

Yes, I certainly have! My mom has an old book on Eastern Religions I’ve been studying and I’ve been reading other texts online. I’ve also done writing about both religions. (Is that what I mentioned on here? Probably)

I don’t know if this thread still exists but it looks interesting so…
1. My birthday is 9/9/03, which I love, because 1. it’s a golden birthday like Ringo’s (the number of the day matches the number of the month) 2. It has two nines which is lovely and 3. No matter where you live you always write the date the same
2. Cats are my favorite animal, but from second grade to seventh grade my favorite animal was a frog. I still don’t know why
3. I have grapheme-color synesthesia, which I did not know until I read a book called A Mango-Shaped Space in middle school.
4. I have a reputation for being a serious bookworm. There are very few activities that I enjoy more than reading. I am a hardcore Potterhead.
5. I have never kissed anyone, and one of my greatest fears is sex. Does that mean I’m asexual? I’m definitely not aromantic though because I have had five crushes. Four were short and silly, one was serious but stayed a complete secret during the three years that it existed, and one (my current one) is on George Harrison .
6. I sometimes wonder if I have anxiety because I get overly stressed and panicky about very small things that really shouldn’t matter but seem very important to me. No matter how much I try I can’t get the small fears to go away.
7. I am a girl, and to my knowledge I am straight. I have never had a crush on a girl, but sometimes… well I don’t know. But so far I have only liked boys.
8. I am abnormally tall for my age– six feet, three inches. My brother, who is younger by about two years, is slowly catching up to me. The day that he is taller will be . a sad one indeed
9. I live in California, which I love, but I have always been secretly disappointed not to be British. (My best friends, favorite band, favorite book series, and favorite TV show are all British so that may have something to do with it )

We were invaded by the British in the 1960s, and it seems as though they still have a stronghold here in the US.

In re: both these things, all I can say is you have a long life ahead of you, and you never know whether you might feel differently at some later date than you do now, and then maybe differently after that. Or you might not feel differently, who knows. If you ever wanna chat about it with someone who knows a thing or two about asexuality and/or questioning, though, my PM box is open anytime.

1. Every day, at the back of my mind, I think about the possibility of being killed via an accident or by someone else.
2. Every day I have a tinge or nervousness that doesn’t really subside until the day is over.
3. I think about my past a lot, often in sad terms. People I knew and no longer associate with, etc.
4. I’m a suspicious and untrusting person and see the world more in chessboard terms.
5. I’m willing to love and trust people but only very special people, and that’s a rare thing.
6. I don’t share much of myself with colleagues, or people in general, and actually take pride in that anonymity.
7. I’m a reserved person but actually I’m hypersensitive to the world around me, and hate being focused on.
8. I’m happy to be left alone and entertain myself, getting lost in my own thoughts, or music.
9. I have a cruel, angry side that is also under the surface but not always evident. I also love puns and humour.

I see a great deal of people (cough cough ASJ) have posted in this thread multiple times and I want something to do besides my homework so HERE GOES:
1. As of this post, I am the proud owner of three George albums: Living In The Material World , Thirty Three And A Third, and George Harrison (which I am currently listening to ). I also have Brainwashed on my phone, and I ordered Extra Texture from Amazon but it’s not here yet :/
2. I want short hair but my hair is too poofy/curly/generally unruly, so I have no choice but to wear it long and wrestle with it daily. It’s very exhausting.
3. I realized a couple weeks ago that my rabbit has a semi-Beatley name. This makes me very happy.
4. I’m half-Jewish. Well, technically I’m not Jewish at all because Judaism is matrilineal, but whatever. I’m not at all religious though, leading me to #5:
5. I am, for the most part, an atheist. I used to consider myself agnostic, but it’s better to be an outspoken atheist than a hypocrite.
6. I hate the word “lunch.” I just can’t stand the way it sounds.
7. In elementary school I was obsessed with stuffed animals and kept hundreds (I’m not kidding, hundreds) of them in my closet. I still have a lot.
8. I want to get a dog and name it Beethoven so I can teach it to roll over, and I want to get a rabbit and name it Legs.
9. A lot of the time when I listen to music I zone out and stare off into space with a blank look on my face, prompting the people around me to think there’s something wrong with me.
*bows*
*retreats to the sad world of weekend homework*
