Wow, this thread has become dark since I last visited.
To try and cheer things up, here’s 9 More facts about SgtPeppersBulldog
1. I like Marmite and dark chocolate (not together, obviously!)
2. I have a habit of picking my hair out, which I wish would stop. Dandruff, y’know.
3. I once got caught singing in my sleep.
4. I currently own A Hard Day’s Night , Rubber Soul , Sgt Pepper , Abbey Road , both Red And Blue albums, Band On The Run , RINGO and Live At The Hollywood Bowl on vinyl. I have a whole bunch of Wings singles and two by George, plus the first four EPs, one of the two MMT EPs and Lady Madonna /The Inner Light single (phew!)
5. I’ve only ever been close to crying over one celebrity death so far, Rik Mayall. I heard about ‘s death, but I didn’t know enough about him at the time.
6. I have a fear I will become hunchbacked…
7. I’m rubbish at online matches.
8. I occasionally listen to a lot of foreign music from the 60s and 70s too, mainly Soviet era Russia and Germany.
9. I fancy myself some flared trousers

2017:
Thanks for those trying to keep this thread on topic. More of that please.
Before we do so, though, I just want to speak in broad terms about behaviour on this forum. This isn’t a school, and if someone is baiting you please try to walk away. If you feed the trolls it always gets worse. It’s natural to want to defend yourself and those things you hold dear, but sometimes it simply isn’t worth the expenditure of energy.
More specifically, a response like “Well, enjoy your pedo music” isn’t likely to defuse a situation, and is more likely to exacerbate it. While I have a degree of sympathy if someone is being a dick to you, please try to be the better person and rise above it.
I don’t think I’ve ever posted on this thread before, so here we go.
- I’m an Englishman living in Wales. I moved here to do my degree, never thought I’d stay longer, but apart from nine months in London I never really left.
- When I was growing up I wanted to be a spaceman, a flying milkman with a helicopter, or a journalist. Only one of those came to fruition.
- I was once made homeless by The Big Issue (a homeless charity). They offered me an editorial job, I quit my London job and flat to change cities, but three days before the start date they phoned me up to make me redundant. I ended up coach-surfing before it was a thing. It’s a decent anecdote now but at the time it was dismal.
- I come from a long line of artists and designers (on my dad’s side), but for some reason my artistic skills are barely better than a seven-year-old’s.
- I have too much stuff. I’d love to live a minimalist lifestyle, but have trouble letting go. Books and records are my main weakness.
- I’m 40 and my social skills are terrible. I recently started working from home, which I love because I rarely have to interact with anyone in real life. I like getting lost in my head, and still find myself saying the wrong thing at parties. I think I’m actually very bad at reading people. In my old job I was tested for (among other things) emotional intelligence, and I scored very low.
- I’d have loved to have become a musician, and still get envious of people on stage. But the truth is I’m a very amateur musician and never really bothered to improve. It’s quite nice to make music for my own amusement, as an end in itself, rather than fulfilling dreams of stardom.
- I was never sure if I wanted kids, but they’re funny and endlessly interesting and have taught me a lot about myself. I still don’t really care about other people’s children though.
- I wish I could get more sleep. My concentration is shot nowadays.
Edit: Numbered lists don’t seem to render properly. I didn’t know that. I’ll add it to the to-do list.

^ I thought you were copying and pasting from somewhere else. I was going to say that you shouldn’t spam your own forum. LOL.
You social skills didn’t seem terrible. You just seemed shy. You married the perfect person to be your outgoing half. Ellie is fab.

I usually just argue with a person forever until they get tired of it or all hell breaks loose, so I think I did pretty well with restraining myself here. Point taken, though. The statement made by @Joe was fair and balanced. There is always room for improvement and I am always working on improving my own behavior. I get that logic doesn’t always work: It may be true, but it’s not calming or defusing to point out to a person that her favorite band are “pedos” by her own definition.
Peace and love.

Saying that Elvis’s music is ‘pedo music’ as a statement is interesting…….anyways I’m off to listen to some Lennon, uh pardon ‘wife beater music’.

Alas, it was I who coined the phrase “pedo music” in reference to The Beatles. I take it back now. It was a tongue in cheek reaction to the repeated statement, “Elvis is a pedo.” I was attempting to illustrate that if Elvis is a pedo then by the same standards, The Beatles definitely are.

I knew that was a problem, but I didn’t report it because I figured everyone else knew it was a problem since no one was using it.

Okay, but what I have said more than once already is that I do not encourage people to be like The Beatles, so that is why your comparison was irrelevant. Also, the link you gave was about John. Not Paul, George, or Richy. I do not worship John, and actually, I would not even consider myself a fan of John as a person. I like him as a musician, and that’s about it. I also never said anything about Elvis’ music being contaminated by his creepiness because I don’t think that necessarily effects someone’s music. Being a bad artist is not a concomitant of being a bad person (but I’m not saying Elvis was a bad person; it just seems as though you took it that way).
But to get back on topic, I’ll give you three more facts about me:
1. I really hate when people are only okay with people talking to them if the person is agreeing with them, and if somebody disagrees with them then they whine and act like they’re being bullied when they’re not.
2. I am not a troll
3. I am not overly emotional and it’s actually very rare that something makes me mad

It is healthy to disagree and share different opinions, it is how you disagree and the manner of wording and the language that matters. There are tonnes of examples in the years gone by on this forum of how to disagree and how not to. Something I keep learning in work is that it’s not what you say but how you say it.

I’ll do 9 more facts about myself
1. I am currently a senior in highschool
2. I was accepted into college back in November, which made it fun to watch everyone else run around sill filling out college apps.
3. I only gave one sibling, a younger sister (Shears Campbell)
4. Both my parent’s are teachers. I used to want to be a teacher when I grew up, but then I realized how low they were paid.
5. I got paid $20 an hour to tutor kids in math (algebra 1 and under), and I realized that I’m not the greatest teacher. However, I would take that job again if there were people I knew that needed to be tutored.
6. I have a goal to become McBeardy by the time I get out of High School, but I’m nowhere near that goal.
7. I have a dog named Willow; however, she wasn’t named after the Paul McCartney song. Willow was the name that the shelter gave her, and it wasn’t until after we had her for a few months that I ended up discoving the Paul song.
8. I was introduced to the Beatles when I was about 3. It started with my parents playing 1 in the car on a road trip.
9. I was born in 1999, which is the year with the most 9’s in it since the year 999.

Hey, that’s cool! I always thought that my birth year was the best but that makes me feel better for my friends who were born in that year.
