I’ll have to give that Raconteurs track a listen, @Ron Nasty — the band and I covered a Raconteurs song called ‘Steady As She Goes’ which I have fond memories of — but right now I’m on a long-overdue BEATLES BINGE for Global Beatles Day!
‘The Beatalls’ canon playlist (sans Abbey Road , because I’m on a strict AR diet, and YS because I haven’t ripped it ) on shuffle — currently on ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da ‘.

Good songs up there…punk’s not dead!
(“Soup” = the only Frankenchrist song I can even remember, practically).
Such a cool little throwaway, with those Paul screams…”Surfin’ With The Beatles !” (Some internet genius should find some appropriate Ringo isolated drum tracks and do a remix job…)

Hmmm, interesting maybe more appropriately titled ‘non-passing blues’
Was: ‘Song for a Future Generation’ by the B-52’s.
Am: The B-52’s eponymous album

The whole album is wonderful, if you haven’t heard it. I do like the way she deals with her gender identity, but there are also some really good punk stompers not dissimilar to something you might hear on Aladdin Sane or The Next Day, particularly ‘Black Me Out’ and ‘Unconditional Love’.
I find these lyrics from the title track particularly powerful:
You want them to notice
The ragged ends of your summer dress
You want them to see you
Like they see every other girl
They just see a faggot
They hold their breath not to catch the sick
Anyways, I’m now listening to Sonic Youth’s Sugar Kane.

Just came out and I think I’m in love. . . and it’s nothing like I usually listen to.
