Now I want to listen to the White Album …

@50yearslate
Always.
As for recommendations, I’d say you could give the rest of the Hunky Dory album a listen, or maybe the song ‘Zeroes’ that I kept mentioning a few weeks back (specifically the 2018 mix). And speaking of mildly Beatley songs by other artists, Led Zeppelin’s ‘Down By The Seaside’ also kinda falls into this category.
Currently listening to/half-watching Pink Floyd’s Live At Pompeii concert film
Edit: Now that was an EPIC Fiddy that I just did, I meant to reply to this post

The question here is not what you have done with Fiddy but what Walrian and I have conspired to do with Fiddy.Tbh you guys deserve a medal for all the non-Beatley songs you’ve convinced me to listen to.
Quicksand is a fecking amazing song and mildly Beatley — extracellent choice, I approve 187%.
Beatley, eh? Any other Beatley Bowie songs you’d recommend?
I just finished Rubber Soul and now I’m going to listen to Pink Floyd’s Obscured By Clouds because it’s very rainy today.
Does the weather often dictate your song choices?

Ugh, I hate decisions. Case in point: what should I listen to? The Beatles? Solo Paul? Solo George? It’s been a while since I listened to John too… ahhhhhhh this is impossible

Just imagine how I must feel, with Floyd, Zeppelin, Bowie, Muse, Radiohead etc. in addition to all of the above to choose from. *has no fingernails left*
Which is why I frequently let the weather dictate my music choices, or my activity, or Beatles Biblers, or I just decide to do an artist-binge and stick to it…

no i don’t want to imagine that because that is scary.
Back when I only liked the Beatles I never had this problem, lol

Fair… what I do is think “what do i want to hear?” and I listen to that. But at the same time I feel obliged to give equal listening time to all of my favorites. For instance, when I wrote my post I wanted to listen to solo George, but I felt bad for neglecting John, and I sort of wanted to hear Paul, and of course there’s the Beatles which are always fantastic… ahhh my head hurts just thinking about it
Oh and by the way I finally decided on Georgie, Bangla Desh just ended and Woman Don’t You Cry For Me just began. I have listened to these songs SO MANY TIMES in the past couple weeks, it’s not even funny.

not gonna lie, I had this problem even back then, albeit on a smaller scale.

Exactly. That’s always a consideration as well.

ahahaha true… “Rubber Soul or Revolver ?!? Ahhhhhh!” I had the same problem after deciding on George, too.

Decided to listen to ‘Little Lamb Dragonfly’ and fffffffffecckkkk I forgot how feely it gets me it just sounds like bottled nostalgia — Paul’s very good at that I think (and the weather+my sleepiness doesn’t help)
I do enjoy a bit of musically-aided melancholy from time to time

All the talking about how to pick what to listen to hit me straight in the heart. I have so much stuff I love, then there’s all the stuff i’ve newly discovered, then all the stuff i haven’t heard yet but want to. recently i’ve been listening to Bowie, T. Rex, and Lou Reed.
