Offline I’m just not at all keen on things that encourage members away from the forum. Like you said, @Starr Shine?, your back-up forum was set up for use in emergency situations, while this is – to my mind – something to draw members away from the forum. After all, I’m sure you’d be disappointed if it received the level of use that the back-up forum.
If some members want a more private setting, that is up to them, but I worry it will create a group who spend more time there than here. I have never been a fan of cliques.

Yet our Pink Floyd subforum was made primarily to open the discussion on the band, as the singular Pink Floyd thread on this forum does not have subsections to discuss different memebers, albums, and other things. We also made one for the Beach Boys , both of which want as many fans talking as possible.
And don’t worry. We spend way more time on Beatles Bible than on either of those.

Offline But neither of those are “Beatles Bible” offshoots, @sir walter raleigh. You call the Pink Floyd a subforum. It isn’t. It is a Pink Floyd forum set up by people who use this site. It is separate from this site. It is not called the “Unofficial Beatles Bible Pink Floyd Forum”. This is being put forward as an, albeit unofficial, offshoot of the Beatles Bible.

Offline I like this idea, it lets us do things like show ourselves to the other BBers without the whole world seeing, as well as letting us hear each other. Hell, just thinking about it makes me want to do some scheduled guitar lessons using this thing.

Offline I would think it would need to be called a different name due to the similarities with here. You can’t simply shove in “unofficial” into the title otherwise a whole load of other unofficial sites and products would be out there.
As for being active on it, I’m busy enough on here and have made my views clear before so will remain opting out. I hope it’s successful, however.

Offline @Starr Shine? something’s wrong with my account. I can write things but when the page refreshes it doesn’t save what I wrote and something as simple as x-ing out of that tab logs me off as well as throws out all of the things that I wrote.

Something I will not tolerate is for some conversation or joke to be going on over there and then it be brought over here as an “inside” joke that the rest of us will not understand.
