As @Ahhh Girl can tell you, I never answer with my name, though she will generally start with hers – even though the phone has already told me it’s her (it comes up on the screen – Ahhh Girl, well no, it doesn’t, it shows her real name, but I’m not telling you lot that don’t already know it)! A call often begins with “Mark?”
Phones tell you who’s calling nowadays, and I don’t answer calls from unidentified or withheld numbers.

Mark? Followed by a plea for help. Now that I think about it, I really should call you sometime when I’m not in need of help. Guess I could say the same about Zig.
Hello is all I say when I answer the home landline phone. How I answer calls on my mobile phone depends on whose name I see.

Absolutley. To be fair, everyone has an accent. Zag and I are both originally from Upstate NY and have a very distinct accent. My co-workers laugh at me every time I say I am going to grab a cup of caw-fee.

How else are you supposed to pronounce coffee?

Cah-fee, I guess.

Correct.
@StrawberryFieldsForever the accent does not come across well in print does it? I suppose if I used a couple more w’s – cawww-fee.
Also, Zag’s accent has her turning one syllable words into two syllables. For example: if the room is too dark, turn on a lay-ump.

That’s cute.
Oh, and I still say “cawww-fee”, cause I don’t have an American accent. I guess @meanmistermustard and @Ron Nasty would approve of the way we pronounce the word.

I’m from Lawn Guyland, and I hear everyone talking about the caw-fee they drink too. Of course, I will deny having an accent just like everybody else on the island.

If the only two options are caw-fee and cah-fee (Boston accent?) then I say caw-fee too.
I don’t think I have an accent, but I don’t know what to compare it to. I don’t have an easily identifiable one like English, Southern, or NE at least.
I do run my words together though (would not you = wouldn’tcha for example) which is something that goes with the New England/Boston (and most big cities) dialect, not an accent though.

To find your accent look at the people and locations you grew up in since that is where most people pick up their accent.

That’s the thing. South Florida is so South the Southern accent doesn’t apply and people there are from everywhere, other countries and other parts of the US, so that has no accent of its own, and I spent a few of my formative years near Boston but wasn’t raised by someone with a Boston accent so don’t have that. I have a weird subtle mixture of a lot of things I guess.
And I say a-pricot.
(@cbatch I accidentally typed thongs and it corrected to things… It’s learning
If it’s any consolation it said provost when I wrote pricot.)

All my life, people from the North, South, East, and West have told me that I don’t have a Southern accent. I’ve always been told I have a flat, Mid-Western accent. I wonder why I am gettting different opinions now. I wonder if aging is the culprit.

Wait , there’s more than one way to pronounce apricot? I had no idea.
A (to rhyme with way) – pri (as in prick, not pree) – cot (just cot). Apricot. Now I’m filled with self doubt.

See, my pri is pronounced pree – but then I am Welsh and we pronounce things rather oddly at times.
