I read through the thread just now. We forgot to mention the Great Moderation Sickness of May 2014. The forum software was putting everyone’s posts under moderation. That’s when Annadog40/Starr Shine? made the backup forum.
In the August of that year…yikes…everyone got this
When you first saw it, you didn’t know that others saw it too. You were just scared silly that you had made Joe angry and had gotten kicked off. It was like the screen of death. Turns out that it was the whole Beatles Bible that had gotten blocked by Joe’s hosting service. Too many Russian hackers were slaming the site.
In December 2016, Joe’s day job came to an end. He can now work on his internet projects and his book full time. Yay!
What other absolutely momentus moments do we need to put here?

Note, it doesn’t say Russian hackers. Maybe that was in a mod email or something.

@Dark Overlord made BB history today with no less than seven thanks for a post. https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..1/#p253628
That’s the most that there has ever been, as far as I know (I may be wrong).

I wish people wouldn’t do that. OK, there’s a bug. There are many. The forum doesn’t need any more clutter though.

It’s less lag, more of you scroll down a post and see a bunch of thumbs/thanks and takes longer to read a thread.
Kinda like a unintentional mini-game but seeing how it isn’t a Beatles related game, it is not allowed.

Isn’t it rather rude to ignore a request from the owner of the site?

I don’t get why folk need to thank a post as many times as humanly possible, surely one is enough. We’re not on Facebook where the more likes equal the more popular posts, all it means is that some folk can’t be bothered hitting thank as many times as possible in a specific time frame.

Okay, how often does it take you more than .1 seconds to scroll past the thanks bar on a post. I mean if every user thanked a post 7 times, then I would see your point, but hardly ever do I see a post that exceeds 3 lines of thanks on a desktop browser(Unless you’re using some weird zoom settings).

In our mind, it means we are agreeing more, or like it a lot.
I don’t see why it annoys people. It is completely harmless, and we are spreading joy.
I shall now exit the conversation by saying Peace and Love!

Eh, don’t really know since it doesn’t bother me.
It is diffent levels and adds some forum culture. Like the 17 or 9 thing of yesteryear.
As long as the glitch persists, multiposts will no doubt happen.

I can see why people don’t favor multiple-thanking. I’ve made posts, checked back on them later and got all excited because I thought a handful of people liked it, then realised it was all one or two people who thanked it more than once. That’s pretty disappointing.
However, I don’t see it as a huge problem. There’s a bug, sure, and if it doesn’t cause any bigger issues we can just leave it as it is. No big deal as of right now.
I can say that if I ever thank multiple times, it wasn’t intentional; my mouse still buggers up and double clicks a lot.

I think having a reason for the dislike will make his case stronger.
If Joe doesn’t want anyone to do it, he should fix the glitch or if he can’t, get rid of the thanks option.

I think his expressed displeasure should be enough to stop anyone from doing it *intentionally*. It is such a small thing he is asking of us.

1. It clutters up the site unnecessarily.
2. It highlights the fact that there’s a bug I’m unable to fix.
There – two reasons, both of which I mentioned upthread.
