A cock up from me, I’m guessing. The other two posts that have just appeared are the ones that were posted to the impossible thread when I moved the conversation there. Me and AG seemed to think this was a new thread.

This is no longer so. I moved them back, as I seem to have messed it all up. It’s back to how it was (plus the other two comments that weren’t here originally but are relevant to the conversation).
My deepest apologies for causing you all a headache.

Well, it’s still confusing as there are posts that weren’t before. Nothing I can say in my defence, except admit I’m a bit crap at this.
Again, I’m sorry. Am bashing my head against the desk very hardly for you all. Please pick up the conversation as best you can.

Delete all your posts in this thread, deny all knowledge of any issues, deny moving anything about. If anyone even hints at your involvement deny loudly and forcefully that it hasn anything to do with you as you were elsewhere on the site and threaten legal action at such a slur on your character and ability as a mod – oh and delete this post too.
That’s the grown up approach for when something like this happens.

I’ll come in now and take a huge portion of the blame. I’ve been in conference meetings today, and hopping onto the BB during breaks. I didn’t do multi-tasking very well.
Em and I saw Annadog40’s question (post #15 on the previous page) about the number of users online at one time. She had started a new thread for the question. I remembered that I had posted that same question in the “impossible to derail thread” a few months back so I PM’d a response to Em with the link to the beginning of that conversation. See her link in post #19 on the previous page. (EDIT: I moved that conversation to this thread so FFE’s link won’t go to the right place). We thought that Annadog40’s post and the subsequent responses should be moved to the impossible to derail thread along with an explanation of why we did it and a link to the conversation from last month.
I was a bad forum member last month for not searching to see if this topic had been mentioned before (especially seeing as how I am the one who put up all those “how to search” instructions) before I made that post. I was a bad mod today (Miss Search Queen didn’t follow her own advice) and didn’t take the time to search to see if a thread or conversation on the topic already existed – beyond remembering the post I had made. I should have found this thread. Shame on me.
While I was off-line, Em moved those post and then craziness ensued. When she went back to move those posts again, she stumbled upon an older thread with an extremely similar name. @fabfouremily I apologize for leading you to the impossible to derail thread post I made and creating all this confusion. I should have stepped up my game and found this thread instead.
Apologies to all for this uh-oh. Thank you all for being kind, patient, and forgiving.
I hope we all continue to create the history of the Beatles Bible forum together for many, many, many, many, many, many (you get the picture) years to come.

@Starr Shine? The main differences I have noticed in the time I have been here? There seems to be many more younger people joining us. This is no bad thing, as it proves The Beatles are constantly capturing new generations. However, the younger crowd who have grown up with the interweb do use the site differently to us old fogeys who watched it develop over decades. You youngsters have a very different experience of it, and use it differently. Much of which I find fascinating to watch, and to be able to play a part of, while little bits (as more than one person here knows) I find hugely annoying. Even those bits that I sometimes find annoying interest me however.
Obviously, and maybe saddest of all, we have lost too many valuable contributors along the way. That saddens me, but all neighbourhoods change over time.
The important question is whether the forum I joined back then I would still join, and the answer is a definite yes. The reason so many people join us is because @Joe created a wonderfully informative site and welcoming forum. I am glad to be part of it.

The Beatles Bible 2020 non-Canon Poll Part One: 1958-1963 and Part Two: 1964-August 1966
In the earliest days I think the forum was mainly populated by 20-40-year-olds (it’s hard to be sure, those are approximate ages). Then we had an influx of kids who just wanted to talk about high school, mutual friends (ie someone would invite a classmate to join the forum, and they’d have conversations that only meant something to them), teen stuff etc. The dark days of Mr Big, Sunnii and Strawberrylakiesha. We started “All together now” around that time because people wanted to discuss non-Beatles things, which wasn’t what I wanted when I set the forum up (but hey, got to keep the community alive). I had intended it to be a forum about the Beatles, more Beatles, and nothing but the Beatles.
Over time the annoying kids left, and it pretty much ended up with what we have now. The occasional wobble but it’s mostly all good, with some long-term valued members and new people arriving each month. And it’s been really nice to see how each moderator has stamped a little bit of their personality on it.
The server also used to crash every five minutes. It holds up a bit better nowadays, since I invested in some better quality string and tape.

There is some genius posts in a random thread about 2 girls talking about what they were doing in school today (or something along them lines) for about a page and a half of thread space. Cue Joe coming in with a “Ahhhh could you keep that to PMs please”*.
Never fails to make me laugh whenever I see it

It was on that fateful day, the fiftieth anniversary of The Beatles arrival in the States, that thongs were forever altered. The merry Forumpudlians were traveling back in time to celebrate their favorite band’s success (still one of the most fun threads ever), by reliving it! It was when @Ahhh Girl, as expected and premeditated, found her way past the guards and into Paul’s room .
When asked how it was…. You know how it was… Kite, relatively new on the scene replies for AG with something like:
Right AG?
AG nearly exploded with joy as this GIF was was a small piece of heaven in her eyes! Since then The GIF has been used many-a-time in the appropriate posts, but has been resting for a while. It is now making a comeback! Feast your eyes!*
(*Nothing about this post was over dramatic in the slightest. )
Edit: really?! Thongs were altered?? Honestly, my typos are better than what I actually mean…
