Hi all,In short, I’m 31 and a professional freelance bassist in Sydney Australia. Long time lurker at this forum. Been a hardcore Beatles fan since the Anthology came out in the mid-90’s, when I was about 14; went out and got everything on CD. Started amassing a collection of Beatle books and (in the 90’s) videos, then DVDs. First got interested in the bootleg side of things upon discovering Gernhardt’s Beatles page (remember that one?) in about 1997 or 8, and have been a Beatleg collector ever since. I don’t ever get tired of Beatle music and research, and it’s a constant source of fascination for me.

I’m ten years old and my two teenage sisters and I wait anxiously in front of the T.V. for the commercials to end, then it happens….Ed says “And now, the Beatles!”
Suddenly my sisters are rocking back and forth, pulling their hair out and lunging at the screen! my dad says “you’re all a bunch of fools, these bums will never last!”
And of course the rest is not only musical history but a transformational event that remains an unmatched phenomenon.
I am (of course) a life long fan and a musician and songwriter (with a day job) from Chicago, I never saw them live but I have friends who have. I also build and repair guitars and generally take things apart and re purpose them as the mood strikes.
Note by Ahhh Girl 28 May 2014: this post was made as a new thread titled Dad says, “You’re all bums”. I moved it here as it is an introduction post.

First of all, welcome @thirstnhowl! I hope you enjoy the forum.
Secondly, this reminds me of something my grandfather said. My dad wasn’t born until a year after The Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, but through his older sister (my aunt), he found out that, upon seeing the four on TV, his dad said, “These guys will never make it!” and, in response to the wild fans, “I don’t know what all the fuss is about, they’re ugly.”

Hello. I’ve always enjoyed the Beatles’ music, but I never felt inclined to get all their albums until recently, when I finally REALLY became a huge fan. I’ve seen Paul live in concert twice now, and will see him again in exactly two weeks and one day. I just finished eighth grade today, in other news.
Lately I’ve been getting more into obscure numbers, more like Old Brown Shoe , I’m Down and Yes It Is (thank you, Past Masters ) than I Am The Walrus and A Day In The Life .
I have a bit of a problem with listening to one song or album so much that I get sick of it, but it takes quite a while for me to tire of anything Beatles, except for a select few songs.
I can’t say I have a favorite Beatles album, but my top 5 (which I would say are all tied at number one, simply because I couldn’t pick one) are Abbey Road , Revolver , Rubber Soul , The Beatles, and Sgt. Pepper ….
If you're lonely (or not!), you can talk to me. .....Hey! Are you a new member on this fine forum and don't know where to go to introduce yourself?
Well, you can do it here! Dig it?
