Booked my December/January holiday today. I’m going to Italy, Greece, Dubai and Singapore. Something to look forward to.

I was completely emasculated at a party last night by people who can actually do pull-ups, and to those of you who may argue that a female can’t be emasculated by a bunch of guys, just watch me and my stupid pride go.
…seriously I have a mile-deep competitive streak and I will now work out with renewed vigour
It was a fun party, though, I enjoyed myself thoroughly.

The only person who can emasculate you, @Beatlebug, is you. Life shouldn’t be a competition with others but, instead, finding a you you like being.

Oh, of course. The way I like to put it is, my competitive streak isn’t so much an aversion to ‘losing’ but a determination to ‘win’, for my own personal self-improvement. I like to compete against others because it’s fun, but I like to ‘win’ mostly for the satisfaction of being good at things.
That said, it also does me good to be upstaged by others every Now And Then . Keeps my ego in check.

Listen closely because this is wise advice and I completely recommend you heed it.
Do steroids.
What could go wrong?
Exactly, nothing.

Or I could walk into my local gender clinic and ask them to diagnose me with gender dysphoria so I can shoot up testosterone. I present pretty butch and I’ve done a fair bit of research so I know all the right things to say, it’ll be a cinch — and there’s no way I’ll regret that later!
real talk though, even trans guys who go on T still have to bust their asses working out

Or you could be like me and accept your current athletic condition without complaint, it’s much easier that way

But getting strong takes WORK! And WORK is bad!
That’s your opinion. I don’t think work is bad. It gets things done.
That having been said, I’m not good at getting things done, so who am I to talk
But I’ve been doing my push-ups and sit-ups pretty consistently for about a month now, it only takes five minutes a day and stuff’s happening — all I gotta do is stick to it!

I was referring to physical work, aka exercise. Other work is all right. This summer, I’m practicing my procrastination. *happily ignores pile of summer assignments*

I think I prefer boring physical work to boring mental work. If the mental work is something that interests me, then it’s interesting, but if it’s not, I’d rather do something physically difficult but mindless so I can happily ramble my thoughts wherever they please (and probably listen to music whilst doing it). Exercise is even better because it makes you feel good and it’s pretty much totally selfish.

I understand that, but I don’t find that my mind can wander if I’m exercising— it’s too busy thinking things like i think i’m dying and can I be done now. And perhaps it makes you feel good in the long run, but it personally makes me feel very, very not good while I’m actually doing it.

Well, you gotta take it easy at first or you will feel like you’re dying. It feels best just after you do it, when you can appreciate how easy and comfortable doing nothing is.

So true. As John once said, (paraphrasing here) at the end of the day we’re all going home and being with ourselves and the life we’ve made for ourselves anyway.

I used to do cross country at my old school.
2nd worst decision of my life.
Then I did lacrosse.
Worst decision of my life.
I then decided that the Beatles would be my new sport.
Moral of the story:
Athletics? Pointless.
Beatles? Fantastic.
Hotel? Trivago.

So the real moral of the story is clearly that I’m the only slightly athletic/interested in physical graffiti fitness person here.
