Sorry to hear that Ahhh Girl, but hey, broken screens look way cooler than normal ones, that’s my honest opinion!

[…]Get ready for the ‘How’d you break your screen?’ comments… even though everyone does it the same way: they drop their phones, of course. I started coming up with alternative answers after a bit, like ‘Oh, I dropped it in Africa while the elephants were stampeding’ or ‘it happened at the opera during the lead soprano’s aria’ etc., etc.
Haha, well, I certainly didn’t do it the normal way: I had dropped my old phone many times, even from my bike while I was going very fast, and it never broke because my father, knowing me too well, had put some super extra protection cellophane on it. Then one day, I had it in the front back of my schoolbag and I stood in front of a fence when I suddenly had to write something down, so I placed my schoolbag on top of the fence and used its back as a solid surface for a paper to write on. Unfortunately, with pressing on my schoolbag while writing on it, I also constantly pressed my phone screen-first against a pole of the fence (because it was in the bag’s front pocket, after all). So when I arrived at home and took my phone out, I had a nice little surprise. (I’m still not sure whether it was really this fence incident but from my reconstruction of my way home this was the only logical explanation).
Just in case anyone needs a weird story….
And good luck with choosing your college, Peppdog! I’m also looking for universities at the moment, although I think I’ve already decided, finally, also on the subject.

Today is my half-birthday.
It was also the occasion of a particularly fabulous Offbeats jam session, which featured extended improv solos from yours truly and general rock chemistry and positive vibes. All the Page I’ve been working on is paying off — I can feel my axe chops getting sharper!
So, yeah, I’m having a pretty good day.

I start a job today at my local cinema. I’m very excited. Currently jamming out to the magnificent ‘Breaking Into Heaven’ by none other than the Stone Roses, doing homework and taking brief excursions to follow @Beatlebug ‘s example and bash out some Zep on my guitar. The Ocean’s riff is really addictive to play.

I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Take notes for how the Americas handle hurricanes.
Also don’t put tape on your windows. Better to have small shards than large ones.

Just hunker down, @AppleScruffJunior. Be safe.
I remember the great storm of 1987.
I was working nights at the time, night crew in Tesco. First sign was the windows starting to act like wobble-boards. Then we lost power. Remember that well. I was in the lift bringing a cage up from the warehouse, and it stopped halfway up. 25 minutes waiting for it to be hand-cranked up because the back-up generator failed. Went to leave work at around 6am. There was a trolley flying across the delivery area around two foot Off The Ground . Decided it might be an idea to make use of the canteen for a bit longer. Left a couple of hours later. There was a motorbike hanging out the window of a pub. Signs and trees down all along my walk home.
Don’t take any risks.

Dedicate something to me on the forum, and make me out to be a saint. It’s what I would like to be remembered as. Also, if you say something is “good” make sure to say “but not as good as ASJ”.
Finally everyone has to name their first/next-born child after me!
Thank you all, and hopefully these plans won’t have to be implemented.
