Yellow Submarine fits better before the White Album .Which would still disrupt that particular HT.
It wouldn’t disrupt the holy trinity that I made that includes The Beatles, Abbey Road , and Let It Be .

Now that I think of it, you can split The Beatles albums into trinities:
British Invasion:
Meet The Beatles, The Beatles Second Album, A Hard Day’s Night
More British Invasion:
Something New, Beatles 65′, Beatles VI
Electric Folk Rock:
Help !, Rubber Soul , Yesterday And Today
Psychedelic Rock:
Revolver , Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour
Classic Rock:
The Beatles, Abbey Road , Let It Be
Ones that are hard to place:
The Early Beatles, Yellow Submarine , Hey Jude
If you use the US releases, it isn’t perfect, but let’s use the UK releases: Note that I am not counting Long Tall Sally because it is in Past Masters in it’s entirety
British Invasion:
Please Please Me , With The Beatles , A Hard Day’s Night
Electric Folk Rock:
Beatles For Sale , Help !, Rubber Soul
Psychedelic Rock:
Revolver , Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour
Classic Rock:
The Beatles, Abbey Road , Let It Be
Hard To Fit:
Yellow Submarine , Past Masters , Anthology
If it weren’t for Yellow Submarine , this would’ve worked out perfectly and it still works out great

Okay, it really should just be ToG and PoP, but I needed a third one. I figure that GMRTBS would be the third because it has songs from the two previous covered, as well as some others.

This list is very the time of my early adulthood, sorry about that!
David Bowie: How can you go past the Berlin trilogy? Low Heroes Lodger.
Brian Eno: It’s tough with this guy, some of his best ambient releases are right next to his attempts to make soundtracks to imaginary films. I’ve had to go with his first three which are at least consistent. Here Come The Warm Jets, Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy), Another Green World.
Talking Heads: Well this is easier. More Songs About Buildings And Food, Fear Of Music, Remain In Light.
XTC: Now this is a tricky one because technically the Dukes of Stratosphear recordings are chronologically part of XTC canon, just not as XTC. So, given that, the trilogy should be 25 O’Clock (as the Dukes of Stratosphear), Skylarking, Psonic Psunspot (as the Dukes of Stratosphear), because as much as I love Oranges and Lemons the Stratosphear albums are utter classics and fit the whole psychedelic writing theme of the time.
The Cure: This will probably be hotly contested by fans. I’m not particularly a fan of Pornography myself, even if it is “important”. So, Boys Don’t Cry, Seventeen Seconds, Faith
REM: I think this is a 4 album run, you can pick your own starting/ending point, Green, Out of Time, Automatic For The People, Monster
Might think of some more later.

Shoving Yellow Submarine in between The Beatles and Abbey Road is like trying to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a Glock instead of your hands, it just doesn’t work. Yellow Submarine is the gap in between the psychedelic childish era and the classic bluesy rock era and should be placed in between Magical Mystery Tour and The Beatles.

But it wasn’t.
You can’t make up the rules to suit your own dream Beatles album chronology. Discarding the chronological order as if it doesn’t matter just isn’t right.
Yellow Submarine is a Beatles album. The Beatles sanctioned it as one and the catalogue says it’s one.

Definitely not a John Williams HT as he released 6 albums between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back and another 10 albums between that and Return of the Jedi.
I guess Star Wars isn’t as popular in the UK as it is, but the order goes Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return Of The Jedi. Sure, John scored other films like Superman and Raiders Of The Lost Ark in between, but when was the last time you’ve heard someone say “The Superman with Christopher Reeve is the perfect gap between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back”.

Sorry if my original description didn’t put enough emphasis on the chronological order requirement of a Holy Trinity. They have to be three albums released in a row, excluding, if you like, greatest hits or live albums that may have popped up between them. When I described the HT as a “three-album run,” that’s what I was talking about, three in a row. There are plenty of bands that have produced three great albums, but three in a row is a bit more difficult, yes?

On your first point, I said:
Definitely not a John Williams HT as he released 6 albums between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back and another 10 albums between that and Return of the Jedi.
That’s exactly the same order as you say I should be using: Star Wars – 6 other albums – The Empire Strikes Back – 10 other albums – Return of the Jedi. Where is the difference?
On your second point, this isn’t meant to be a pick and mix affair. As @BluemeanAl made clear in his first post. It is meant to be three consecutive albums, or creative releases, as the same things exists with films, books, etc. While many may think Superman and Raiders aren’t among the very best of Williams’ work, I’m sure that most would agree Close Encounters is him at his most inspired, and it’s the soundtrack that immediately follows Star Wars.
In fact, it might be considered interesting that he was working on two of his most iconic scores, both for very different types of sci-fi movies, at roughly the same time.
BluemeanAl didn’t make up the rules for what a “Holy Trinity” is, no more than I did. They are something that are discussed, a known factor.
Three classic/acclaimed albums coming one after the after without interruption.
It’s not meant to be just any three albums, and it’s meant to be just any three chronological albums. They’re meant to represent the artist hitting peaks.
I don’t think anyone here would pretend that either Yellow Submarine or Let It Be are in the top half of Beatles cannon albums. In fact, both pretty near the bottom. And yet both have been used.
This isn’t meant to be a game, but a discussion of artists who are so at the top of their game that they can string three classics together in a row.
To my mind, even The Beatles only managed it once (Rubber Soul , Revolver and Sgt. Pepper ). Their other great albums were interrupted by lesser albums, of which Yellow Submarine and Let It Be are good examples.

I don’t think you understand what I’m trying to say. The 3 Star Wars soundtracks have more continuity than saying Star Wars, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, and Jaws 2. Also, I think the soundtracks for Superman and Raiders Of The Lost Ark are just fine. The only flaw with John’s scores is that they aren’t rock music and John should’ve picked the appropriate band to play his scores for each movie, such as using Black Sabbath for Star Wars. Also, I think The Beatles, Abbey Road , and Let It Be is a pretty good trinity (I originally had Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles, and Abbey Road , but considering I skipped out on two albums, I’m forgetting about this one). Also, If you’re going to say that Yellow Submarine ruins that trinity, remember that although Yellow Submarine was released after The Beatles, it was recorded in it’s entirety before The Beatles, the movie came out before The Beatles (which had all the songs from the soundtrack in it), and they were going to release it as a 4 track EP before The Beatles, so I say that it shouldn’t ruin the holy trinity of the last 3 Beatles albums, although that topic really needs it’s own page.
Maybe you should try posting more.

I understand exactly, @HMBeatlesfan. You don’t like the definition so you want to change it.
The definition of a HT is three consecutive albums by an artist that shows them firing on all cylinders, but you want to ignore the 15 albums and 6 years that separated those three albums.
Sorry, you can call it a “trinity” because it is, but it is not a HT.
Just as you cannot elevate a mediocre album like Let It Be or Beatles For Sale to the status of among their best to make a three album run.
And I’m not saying anything I haven’t said from my first post in this thread, where I explained in great detail the problems with Dylan’s ’70s HT.

I understand what you’re saying when you say that John made albums in between his Star Wars trilogy, but note how I used the word trilogy. Also, you may think Let It Be and Beatles For Sale are mediocre but someone else might think they’re up there with Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Beatles. Personally, I really enjoy the electric proto-psychedelic folk rock sound of Beatles For Sale and the garage rock quality sound of Let It Be and if it weren’t for the fact that every Beatles album is better than the last up until Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Beatles For Sale would’ve been thought of better. Remember now, whether something is good or not is an opinion, so you can’t go around saying that “Let It Be shouldn’t be on these lists because I don’t think it’s a great album”.

I think he was speaking more about the overall reception of Let It Be and Beatles For Sale . Saying that Let It Be isn’t on par with The Beatles and Abbey Road is not the same as saying its a bad album by any means.
With that being said, any three Beatles albums in a row are holy to me.
I’ve got two more HTs
Paul Simon, There Goes Rhythm Simon, and Still Crazy After All These Years
James Taylor has Sweet Baby James, Mudslide Slim, and One Man Dog
He also has Gorilla, In the Pocket, and JT,
as well as Never Die Young, New Moon Shine, and Hourglass (with That’s Why I’m Here and October Road sandwiching the HT, both capable of being in one.)
