I made the edit.
@Mr. Kite, we don’t do separate nominations. You just vote, and I tally them up.

Parlance, if you need any help with this, I’m happy to volunteer.
Awesome, thank you! Last year, the votes trickled in, and it wasn’t overwhelming. But if that changes, I’ll let you know.

I think I still have the “best avatars”. Haven’t changed it in a long time, but it’s pretty awesome.
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

It’s awesome BECAUSE you haven’t changed it! (Also just awesome in general)

I’m getting the list done now so I can send it to parlance in December, and a lot of the member ones are easy, but funniest post… That’s gonna take me a while to find…

Maybe the Best Rewrite/Poem category could be expended to included things like best covers and stuff like that. Or like Best Creative thingies maybe?

I had a bookmark folder for everyone I thought was a candidate, but since my computer’s dead and I’ve missed a ton of posts, I’ll probably leave that one blank.

I think the should be a separate category for creative thingies!

The only thing i would say (not as a mod) is that each category really should be open to include a wide variety of nominees otherwise you might as well just hand over the award and not bother voting. For example i’m pretty sure that ‘Best rewrite/poem’ was put in when meanmrsm (no relation), mr. sun king and a handful of others were doing them along with Zig, now i can think of only Zig and mr kite who have done any (apologies if i am wrong) and i would suggest the same applies for a cartoon award. I think this why @parlance is not that keen on the award for ‘Most informed on current Beatles news’ (again apologies if i’m wrong). So maybe the categories could do with a tidy-up – but probably not this year as its nearly December.

Can I request a “Which two users are the most similar” category
We can just hand it over to the vonbontee bros right now! No need to vote.

Mr. Kite, Starr Shine?, StrawberryFieldsForeverI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

That makes perfect sense @meanmistermustard. I wasn’t suggesting a cartoon award, I was backing up the creative work thing AD40 suggested. That would include covers, stories, along with things like the BB Cartoon. I was just saying that would be my vote.
I think the categories are just fine now. Although I would need clarification on the posts that make you go hmmm.
Edit: and rereading Anna’s suggestion, it seems she wants to broaden the best Rewrite to include many creative things. And that would make sense.

It’s up to you. I just took that from the song title, and I’ve enjoyed the way people have interpreted it.

Having just had a chance to reread this thread, I’d be okay with expanding best poem/rewrite to Most Creative Contribution in time for the awards this year. What say others?
