Do you think The Beatles Bible House could be dramatized for TV?
My daughter was an Engineering Major at a University that also happens to be one of the top film school in the US. She had one elective to take her final semester so she chose a class that invites people in the entertainment industry to come in and make presentations. Afterwards students made a pitch to the guest with an idea for a film or tv show. The students prepared a one-page outline that contained a synopsis, list of characters and a sample plot. Since most of the guests were show creators/producers (Lost, Narcos, Heroes) there was a small chance of being asked to prepare a full treatment. My daughter is more of a scientist than a creative writer and hadn’t prepared anything as the final week approached. The last guest speaker was Vince Gilligan who had just finished up a big hit in the states with a tv show called Breaking Bad. Anyway, she called me desperate for ideas. At the time my work project just required monitoring, so I was spending a lot of time on the BB site. So, this is what I pitched as an idea:
Characters:
Joe – 35-year-old man who lives in London and hosts 60s music websites. Joe loves his wife more than anything and will stop at nothing to make her happy.
Ellie – Joe’s wife who manages an Inn that she inherited from her folks. The Inn is failing and on the verge of closing.
Molly (nickname Ahhh Girl) – Ellie’s girlfriend who helps manage the Inn. Molly is single and deeply infatuated with Paul McCartney .
Angus (nickname Mean Mr. Mustard) – Scotsman who went to University with Joe. He is a man of great pride and strong beliefs who regularly quarrels with the others.
Zig (needs a Beatle nickname) – American who lives next door to the Inn with his wife Zag and their kids. He practices yoga and has a Zen approach to life.
Ron – Ellie’s brother who long ago was a concert promoter. His biggest client was The Annadog40s for which he is trying to organize a reunion.
Anna – Manages the Inn’s maintenance crew which consists of her bandmates from a popular 90s group called The Annadog40s. She may have had a romantic relationship with Ron in the past.
Synopsis:
Ellie is ready to give up and close the Inn. Joe comes up with the idea of turning his music blog into The Beatles Bible and attracting guests to the BBH Inn through the Fab Forum. Joe recruits Molly, Angus, Zig & Ron to help create Beatle based itineraries for the guests. There are 4 rooms for rent and each one is decorated for one of the Beatles. Guests arrive on Sundays for a one week stay.
The show will cover multiple genres including comedy, romance, drama and pure fantasy.
Typical plot:
The 6 leads meet in the Inn’s garden at the beginning of every show. They review the expected arrivals profiles, posts, and questionnaire that is part of the reservation. Most often the leads choose guests to accompany based on their avatar which leads to many surprises which are often funny and sometimes poignant. A major part of the show will be the interaction with the guests and accommodating their expectations. Molly is particularly susceptible to Paul avatars. Many scenes to be shot at actual historic Beatle locations. After commercial each scene begins with an animated version of Beatles Trivia – Even Easier, which is a feature in the forum consisting of fake questions and answers about The Beatles. Every show ends with Joe leading all the guests to the Abbey Road crossing. In the first show as the camera pans away Ringo is spotted standing on the corner.
A running subplot involves Ron attempting to organize a rooftop concert for the Annadog40s reunion. The “40s” are a bit rough and tumble and speak in Scouse dialect to comic effect. The final show of season 1 ends with the live concert.
Challenges:
Production will need to be very creative to avoid copyright infringement (think Beatley moments and symbols). Since actual Beatles music will be cost prohibitive, it will be important to create a unique artistic atmosphere that suggests The Beatles.
This is pretty much what I remember pitching. Before Joe issues a cease and desist order, she didn’t like my idea and decided to go with a story about her high school immersion trips to Central America. She got an A in the class so all is well, but if only I could have explained our Beatles Trivia thread better

Time to revive this thread! It’s just about the right weather for getting out in the garden and doing some work. I’ll be cleaning up the Georgegarden today, if anyone cares to join me (I’ll very likely have All Things Must Pass blasting quietly). Expect to be accompanied by a few of my honeybees as they revive their efforts after the long cold lonely winter, but fear not, they’re perfectly friendly.
I will also be holding a Houses Of The Holy party in my room, if any of my fellow Ledheads care to join me. @WeepingAtlasCedars @Martha

I see some stockings that need mending in the wash pile. Whoever they belong to…please just go buy some more. You’ll be better off in the long run. Let me know if you do buy some NEW ones, and I will dispose of these.

NEW ones?! Outrageous! I came across them too whilst looking for my Manos: Hands of Fate t-shirt in the wash pile. Since when has Paul been branding his own stockings?!
Anyways, I’ve just looked at the floor and I see it needs sweeping. Which one of you has been treading mud in the house? Would one of you please kindly lend me your comb mop?

The House seems to be a bit of a mess, all round, since we’ve been neglecting it so. I’m fixing a hole where the rain gets in and stops my mind from wandering. Are there any other missing shingles/siding/broken windowpanes, etc.?

I think it’s time for an autumn… fall… *checks seasons for America* Spring clean! Everyone should chip in – the garden needs some weeding, there’s old stuff that can be thrown out, and food which needs eating
Who’ll help out?

I’ve fixed a hole where the rain got in, filled cracks in the door, and cleaned up the Georgegarden some. I should probably check on my beehives — any volunteers? I could use a temporary assistant to hold things for me.
First, though, I’ll get fortified. Time for a jolly old fridge-rummage…

Do we need some food for our Easter celebrations? Is it too late to get @WeepingAtlasCedars to order a feast?

I’d be glad to join your Houses of The Holy party, @Beatlebug!
I’m also available for cleaning/helping/etc. I just finished cleaning my room, so I don’t have to worry about my own stuff being all messy anymore.

Well…
Easter’s on me! I extend a cordial invitation for everyone to an Easter feast:
Entree:
Lamb Shank Soup
Main:
Roast Lamb with roast potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, turnips, and carrots
Dessert:
Chocolate Fondue!
And Beatles themed placemates etc…
@WeepingAtlasCedars are you able to order those ingredients in time?
This all depends if we can clean a space large enough for all of us in one room!

@Beatlebug yeah, ok, sure. If it makes Sir Macca happy. What do you propose I cook instead? I’m open to suggestions if it means satisfaction is guaranteed!

Ok, I’ll make a ricotta and beetroot dip, and I’ll make that veggie spiral pie.
Any other requests before I turn the kitchen speakers on and blare AHDN out of them?

Would it aid your cooking process if I provided live music whilst you cook? (My step-granddad likes my mother to play piano while he cooks smashing holiday meals.) I’ll be happy to.
