Offline If you are logged into your BB account and you go to one of the main site pages and make a post, this is what you see
If you aren’t logged into your BB account, this is what you see.
You could have two totally different identities on the BB (a forum personality and a main pages personality), and we wouldn’t know. Not that I encourage that, but someone might do it.
@Joe has gotten used to me leaving replies on the main pages about typos or grammar things to fix. So that he knows not to post those comments to the web, I preface them with the word “Housekeeping”. Perhaps I should have started using “Secretary Memo”, but for some reason I used “Housekeeping” the first time, and it has stuck.
Any other questions any of you have been wondering about the BB? This is fun.

Offline I just remembered that I, too, have a comment awaiting moderation. So, yay, I can be part of this club for the moment.
It is a housekeeping note. Joe’s blog post seems to have disappeared from this page https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..s/hamburg/ Only the comments are there.
I made a comment on the page letting him know his post had gone AWOL. The note is still there. He leaves the notes there as reminders to himself to fix things.

Right, yes, I’m the weak link here.
As others have mentioned, all comments on articles (ie everywhere on this site outside this forum) gets approved/published manually by me. It’s to eliminate spam, abuse, astroturfing, off-topic comments and those which don’t add anything (I normally don’t publish “I really like this song!” because it’s not useful to anyone), plus to rein in argumentative people who can’t be civil.
I’m the only one who approves those comments. Forum moderators are standard citizens outside these walls. Ellie (my wife) has full admin rights but that’s just a safety net – as a rule she doesn’t visit the site.
I get 20 or so comments each day, most of which get published. If I’m away for a few days the backlog can get quite large. I do get round to reading everything eventually though.
For anyone who’s confused, the Things We Said Today section is only a feed widget on the homepage and sidebar which shows the latest approved posts. It’s not really a section of the site as such.
@Ahhh Girl That Hamburg article didn’t go AWOL. It’s been empty since 2008, awaiting content. I should probably write something.

That was me! The title was a message informing everyone about the moderation sickness. Starting a new topic was the only way I could think of sharing a message with everyone without Joe being available.
After I started that thread the post went through too and everyone could post again, I think the topic reset the glitch!
And then I was given a(n) MBE Clipboard!
