Since I got into The Beatles I wanted to have this cool Beatles nickname. My name is Eva, so I wanted to combine that with something Beatles related.

First I thought of Bevatle, but you couldn’t really see it was Beatles related. So, then I thought of Beatleva, as it is a perfect combination, well not perfect, but anyway :D

Yes, not a very exciting story…

Mr. Moonlight is a neighbour of mine. He has mistreated pitbulls and smells of weed.

*SOMEONE* (you a-hard-days-night-ringo-15 know who you are a-hard-days-night-john-6heartapple01 & thank you) gave me a chance to pick a good Beatley name. I love the sound of John sucking air on Girl so I went with what he sings right before that sound. Ahhh girl…

To “AhhhGirl” — you could have tried a nickname spelled “FFFFFSSSSSSSSS” …

That’s a good spelling for it, FP. It would have been yet another thing I did that made people go hummm if I hadn’t told them what it was.

JohnSuckingAir just didn’t seem like a good nickname.

That’s how I got my nickname.

However, this post is about the nicknames for my nickname. I wish I could remember who called me AG first. I think it was mmm, but I’m not sure. I really like it.

I also like being called Ahhh. @WETSRoosa and @Funny Paper both used it recently. It’s like being on a first name basis.

I believe we indeed do have a thread for this already.

Anyway, I chose Linde, because…behold yourself..it is my name.

I think your name is quite beautiful, Linde. Is it pronounced in Dutch the way I’m thinking of it being pronounced : “Lind” would rhyme with “send” and then a long “e.” May be a no-brainer question, but, hey, thought I’d ask.

Haha of course you can ask. I’m happy to explain it to people, hate it when they pronounce my name wrong.

Lind doesn’t rhyme with send, but it does rhyme with wind, for example. Lin sounds exactly the same as the name Lynn. The E at the end isn’t long. If it was, I’d be called Lindie. The E is sorta pronounced like the u in bun, for example. So I guess it sounds like Lynnduhh.

Kind of like Paul’s 1st wife’s name – Linda – never thought about it but it does sound like “duhh.”

I think the ‘e’ in Linde is what linquists call the schwa sound – it’s the upside-down lower case ‘e’ in English (maybe other) dictionary pronunciations.  The sound is something like “uh” or “ah”, like in “the” spoken with a “short e” (not really a short e, but definitely not a long e).

EDIT: Something on topic a-hard-days-night-george-10  When I saw that most people here had Beatley names, I picked Matt because that long word association last line of Dig It is one of my favorite Beatles passages (and, it wasn’t already taken!).

Half of what I say is meaningless...

I feel good in a special way, I'm in love and it's a sunny day

Lots of people pick song names from the albums, so I took from a title of a spoken bit from the 1st Live At The BBC album.  I like the spoken bits.  This one has elements of my real name in it, so it works for me.  I figured no one else had it. a-hard-days-night-john-6

I was strapped for time and wanted to pick a user name. I figured somebody picked “Norwegian Wood ” so I picked “thisbirdhasflown”.

By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

I’m not fond of my name as it is, so I’m thinking of using a nickname in the small chance of ever releasing an album, like Syd Barrett did. During his Floyd days, he looked really, really cool. Hell, even his nickname was.

What’s so cool about the name Syd? Not that I think Roger is better, but just asking. Did you come up with a nickname for yourself yet? I’m curious what you’ll come up with

Polyphemus was the one-eyed giant son of Poseidon, a Cyclops. After ten years of “drinking delight of battle far on the ringing plains of windy Troy” (thank you Alfred, Lord Tennyson), Odysseus is returning to Ithaca, his kingdom. His ship lands on the island of the Cyclopes during his journey and he enters a cave filled with provisions with some of his men. When Polyphemus returns home with his flocks, he blocks the entrance with a great stone and eats two of Odysseus’ men. Next morning, the giant kills and eats two more and leaves the cave to graze his sheep. The giant returns in the evening and eats two more of the men, but Odysseus offers Polyphemus some strong and undiluted wine. Drunk, the giant asks Odysseus his name, promising him a guest-gift if he answers. Odysseus, known by the epithet “the Cunning”, tells him his name is “Oudis”, which sounds similar to his real name but in fact means “Nobody”. Polyphemus promises to eat this “Nobody” last of all. With that, he falls into a drunken sleep. Odysseus has meanwhile hardened a wooden stake in the fire and now drives it into Polyphemus’ eye. When Polyphemus, now blind, shouts for help from his fellow giants, they ask “Who, who has hurt you?” and his answer is “Oudis (Nobody) has hurt me!” They think Polyphemus is being afflicted by divine power and recommend prayer as the answer. In the morning, the blind Cyclops lets the sheep out to graze, feeling their backs to ensure that the men are not escaping. However, Odysseus and his men have tied themselves to the undersides of the animals and so get away.

So now you know, my name is Nobody.

At the time of registering, I listened a lot of MMT. Combined SSF and I Am The Walrus , really. Thought it sounded nice, and it’s a nice image – walrus made of strawberries.

This username was the first thing that came in mind because I have been a beatlemaniac since i was 10 so…that’s about it. Not very interesting. Though I’m happy with the name.

When I made my last email I didn’t want something like my_name_number@gmail.com, so I took a random word and I changed some letters. I took Merchandise and I transformed it in Merchandizer, for short, Merch, and now that’s the name I use in most websites.
