These are the three Beatle albums that I feel are weaker than the rest. Yellow Sub, of course, is a soundtrack with only a few Beatle songs and mostly instrumentals so I’ll discount that. So out of the Beatle proper albums which is the weakest – For Sale or Let it Be? It’s a difficult one as there are some great stuff on each but neither album feels as unified as the other Beatle albums Perhaps Let it Be pips For Sale because of the number of classics it contains – Let it Be, Winding Road, I’ve Got A Feeling but then again I couldn’t live without Mr Moonlight . No Reply or Rock And Roll Music . I guess there isn’t a truly bad Beatle album but some are now quite as good as the others.<img class="spSmiley" title="stay-on-topic" onclick="spjEdInsertSmiley(‘stay-on-topic.gif’, ‘stay-on-topic’, ‘https://www.beatlesbible.com/wp/wp-content/forum-smileys/’, ‘

Let It Be isn’t a bad album at all. Just what spector has done to it. If you compare let it be… Naked, with any other beatles lp, i think, it’s definitely one of the best (I think it’s the second best behind Abbey Road (yes i’m a fan of the late beatles)). And Beatles For Sale , well it features e.g. Eight Days A Week , Mr. Moonlight or No Reply but every Beatles album features good songs and all in all, I think Beatles For Sale is definitely one of the worst beatles lps. Yellow Submarine features only 4 good songs (I mean I like them but it’s just 4). I really don’t like the two old song (Yellow Submarine and All You Need Is Love ). They are one of the very few beatles songs (maybe the only ones) I really hate. And I don’t like the orchestra too. So that’s all what I say to Yellow Sumarine.
Once there was a way to get back homewards. Once there was a way to get back home; sleep pretty darling do not cry. And I will sing a lullaby
I’ve always felt With The Beatles was their weakest album (I don’t really count Yellow Submarine because it repeats songs previously seen on other albums, although I like the four new songs on there). With the Beatles is weaker than both For Sale and Let It Be I think.

Love Beatles For Sale , one of my faves. It has the greatest opening songs of any album (No Reply , Im A Loser) and its all-over-the-placeness ive always liked.
Let It Be is a cool album. Two Of Us is better with the “I Dig A Pygmy” intro in my opinion, Maggie May and Dig It work because they are so short so dont outstay their welcome.
Yellow Submarine only has 4 new beatles tracks and doesnt really count in my eyes as a fully fledged beatle album, but only Hey Bulldog is a standout of those.
Personally im not a fan of Magical Mystery Tour , many of the songs are great but it doesnt quite work for me when all together. Would be below BFS and LIB .

Let it be isn’t a ‘bad’ album but I do prefer Let It Be Naked ,it sounds a lot more like how the beatles wanted it to sound,I think.
The first beatles song that I fell in love with was No Reply so although there’s not many more on the album that I’m crazy about,it still holds I s’pose a special place in my heart, for that reason.:)

Beatles For Sale was the worst. Let It Be had some great individual songs, so I rank it higher.

Well, about Beatles For Sale , I think it’s overall a good LP, but it scores low in my album ranking because most of the songs are covers. I like the Phil Spector version of Let It Be better than Let It Be … naked album because the song tracks to “Let It Be ” and “The Long And Winding Road ” are sounding better instrumentally (with orchestra and a better guitar solo) than the “naked” versions. The only minus for Let It Be is it’s missing “Don’t Let Me Down “. If Spector would have included that song on his version of the album, I think it would be in the top 5 or something to my list. The naked version DO have “Don’t Let Me Down ” (the rooftop version), though.

I dont get the dislike for Beatles For Sale , it kind of surprises me. I understand it but i dont get it.
Maybe folks dont give it a chance alongside all the other albums.

I don’t get the dislike for Beatles For Sale either, I think it’s excellent and a noticeable turning point into a moodier, more thoughtful phase for the band. Some of the covers are a bit lackluster yes- Words Of Love , Honey Don’t , Mr Moonlight – but the rest of them are great, and the originals on the album are just as good as any other if you ask me.
Far worse as an album to my ears is With the Beatles, which never seems to get mentioned as one of the “weaker ones.”

Well, With The Beatles ain’t being looked upon as a weak album because it actually did well replacing Please Please Me . Said in other words it sold well, and there are many great songs (whole 3 lead vocals by George including his own “Don’t Bother Me ” as his first self-written composition).
I think With The Beatles is no. 12 in my album ranking list, though (then Beatles For Sale as 11). It’s hard because Rubber Soul , The White Album , Abbey Road etc. ARE much stronger albums.

Personally i feel that whilst With The Beatles showed that the Beatles werent going to be a 1 album and a few singles group it isnt as good as any of the first 4, it keep it all rolling on. There are signs that they were developing in the recording studio and writing but A Hard Days Night is conclusive proof of how far they progressed in every department in those 18 months since they had released Love Me Do . It is the peak of Beatlemania, the only way was down after it. Subsequently Beatles For Sale suffers because of this (for all the reasons stated so many times before) as does Help !, even tho there are real sprouts of evolution in many of the tracks. They only returned to that same level of development with Rubber Soul .
And i prefer Help ! and BFS to AHDN !!
Comparing WTB to BFS, songwise:
WTB standouts are: It Wont Be Long, All Ive Got To Do, All My Loving , You Really Got A Hold On Me & Not A Second Time . (im sorry but Dont Bother Me is not a great song and even George new it.)
BFS: No Reply , I’m A Loser , Baby’s In Black , I’ll Follow The Sun (demo’d in 1960 but worked on and improved by the time it was recorded in ’64) & Eight Days A Week (whether you like it or not it is a classic beatle tune and continues to get airplay, tho it can be argued that thats because its on 1 and the Red Album ). Rock And Roll Music is a match for Money.
What does play a part is that WTB is a very upbeat album (everything new and exciting, fame is great, lands are being conquered) whereas BFS is not (beatlemania is getting old already, lands have been conquered, they are totally and absolutely exhausted). Its one thing darting around the UK and going to Sweden for a few days, its another darting around the uk and going around the world for a few months.
