I have the Songtrack and I have to say the tracks are a bit different. They aren’t super noticeable differences, but if you listen they do sound different. I you can get it for cheap, I would say what the heck buy it, but if you can’t it’s not essential to complete your collection of Beatles songs. Really what you get is slightly different versions of songs you already have.

I’d say it’s essential buying if you tend to use headphones a lot when listening to music, as the mixes are so much clearer and better spaced in your two ears. The only track that I don’t like is ‘Eleanor Rigby ‘ (because the vocals are a tiny bit out of sync with the strings, but enough to be annoying for people like me), though it’s still an improvement over the terrible 1966 stereo mix.

I dooooo concur with peppysheppy. The lopsided original stererereooeoeoe mixes tend to give me headaches to go with my headphones.

I’ve been listening for it ever since I read of it here on the BB, and I still haven’t noticed it yet. And I like to think of myself as a pretty sharp listener.

I concur!
Revolver is one album I try to avoid listening to on headphones cause I only have the sterereoeoeoe one.
Edit: I think I sorta just barely heard the out-of-sync-ness. But just barely. It didn’t really bother me.

Well I do think it’s essential, but if you’re not a huge fan of having 50 versions of a song, you might not actually need it. I think it is necessary to complete you’re ultimate Beatles collection.

@pepperland. Hunt down the ‘1+’ remix, it corrects the out of sync vocals and is incredible. Gives the track so much power that is so lacking in every other out there.
