This is not a “White Album as a single disc” thread. Rather, this thread is to post what your optimal version of the White Album . Please do not post “Revolution 9 for every track!”. Try to be serious, although your album can be as unlikely as you want. You can use songs recorded in the February 68 sessions (Lady Madonna , Hey Bulldog , Across The Universe , The Inner Light ) and the later sessions. You can add or subtract any songs you want.

The White Album is what it is. To add or remove anything would take away from it in a negative fashion. The 30 songs on it are what the members of the Beatles were feeling at that particular time. Revolution 9 included. Even if Paul and George Martin didn’t want it there, Lennon did.
The only time I can understand people adding songs to an album would be Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane to Sgt Pepper , because they were supposed to be on the album. The Pepper sessions started with those 2 recordings if I recall.

The White Album is my favourite but I would have left Revolution No 9 out. It would have left more room for Junk!

It would be just an E.P for me: Back In The USSR , Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da . While My Guitar Gently Weeps , Don’t Pass Me By , Revolution 1 .
Don’t like any of the others.

I would just make the White Album a single. A side Revolution 9 , B side Good Night .

Let’s see. I’m including the 12 bar original as I feel an instrumental track would suit the album’s eclectic nature and it being 3 years old the Beatls’ random spirit at the time.

6. 12 Bar Original
7. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
9. I’m So Tired
10. Don’t Pass Me By
11. I Will
12. Martha My Dear
13. Julia
14. Long, Long, Long
15. Revolution
Disc 2
1. Birthday
2. Lady Madonna
3. While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Acoustic)
4. Yer Blues

8. Revolution 1
9. Revolution 9
10. Sexy Sadie
11. Hey Jude
12. Honey Pie
13. Cry Baby Cry
14. Good Night
Hidden track: Why Don’t We Do It In The Road?
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

It seems very odd to add 12 Bar Original to The Beatles but I digress.
Here’s mine, I just replaced the tracks I am not fond of with tracks from either Yellow Submarine , Abbey Road , or Let It Be , as well as their singles:
Side A:
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
Side B:
Why Don’t We Do It In The Road
I Want You (She’s So Heavy)
Side C:
Everybody’s Got Something To Hide (Except Me And My Monkey) *always felt this song needed some parentheses
Side C:
Revolution 1 *medley with Revolution
Revolution *medley with Revolution 1
Golden Slumbers /Carry That Weight /The End *counted as one track here
Hey Jude *I don’t know why they didn’t end The Beatles with this song in the first place, it’s the perfect closer

Why are there songs that were recorded in 1969 on an album released in 1968? You might as well just shove anything on and call it whatever.

My perfect version of the White Album is what we were given, I just couldn’t imagine changing any of the songs and I don’t see why i’d want to. The reason why the White Album is so brilliant is because it’s so varied and all over the place – I wouldn’t want to tamper with that

I say we put the album on 2 45’s.
Side A:
Wild Honey Pie (Extended to a length of 5 minutes)
Side B:
Revolution 9 Pt. 1
Side C:
Revolution 9 Pt. 2
Side D:
Good Night
The Album should be pressed for record flippers, making one disk Side 1 and Side 4, and the other disk Side 2 and Side 3. This way both parts I’ve Revolution 9 will be on the same disk.

A sleeve with only a booklet inside. The booklet as a list of all the song names.
Then the booklet instructs the fans to imagine what the songs would of sounded like.

Howbout we just rename all the songs with white titles? “White Honey Pie “, “White Onion”, “White My Guitar Gently Weeps”, “Yer Whites”, “Good Whight”, “White Don’t We Do It In the Road”, “Whitebird”, “Happiness is a White Gun” and a bunch of others that don’t convert so conveniently
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

That might have worked in 1942 but this is 1968, the same year that the censored eleven was banned. If The Beatles did this, black people would become very offended and we’d have them burning records faster than you can say “we’re bigger than Jesus”.
I think it would’ve been great if The Beatles used this tracklisting for The Beatles, although I can understand why they didn’t:
Side A:
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
Ashes To Ashes
Girl
Side B:
Tie Your Mother Down
Detroit Rock City
Daydream Believer
