They Claim an anti Homosexual slur is used that is offensive in this age, even though My Classic Rock Station has played it since 1985. Stupid CBRC (the People who banned the song). It's a great song
Seriously? That is why they banned it? If they listened to all the pop stations they would ban alot of those songs as well, lots of those slurs if you aske me. No wonder I haven't heard the song on the radio in a long time.
In the new version of this GREAT song (with one of the best riffs ever), they take out that verse… Weird.
I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

Getting back on-topic, here's a list of the songs recorded, in order, for the White Album . I think they'd have made two pretty good separate releases.
Revolution 1
Don't Pass Me By
Revolution 9

Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey
Good Night
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
Cry Baby Cry
Helter Skelter
Sexy Sadie
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Not Guilty
Yer Blues
What's The New Mary Jane
Rocky Raccoon
Mother Nature's Son
Wild Honey Pie
Back In The USSR

Honey Pie
Savoy Truffle
Martha My Dear
Long Long Long
I'm So Tired

The second one is longer but it contains some short songs (WHP, WDWDIITR).

So, here's my choice: (and by the way, I enjoyed this very much)
01 Revolution I
03 I'm So Tired
04 Blackbird
05 Sexy Sadie
06 Don't Pass Me By
07 Julia
08 Back in the U.S.S.R.
10 Yer Blues
11 Honey Pie
14 Cry Baby Cry
Revolution I, for me, would have been just the perfect opener for the album, even better than Back in the U.S.S.R.
Helter Skelter and Long, Long, Long just belong together. And I also love the transition from Honey Pie to Helter Skelter (a bit like from Why Don't We Do It In The Road to I Will , only vice versa).
And Cry Baby Cry , also with Can You Take Me Back, would have been the perfect ending (reminds me of Her Majesty ). Paul would deserve the last word as he's a bit under-represented on my album.
Some of the songs I threw out:
While My Guitar Gently Weeps – It's nice, but I think it's overrated… I like the acoustic version better, but I only wanted to use songs from the actual album. I also left “Savoy Truffle ” and “Piggies ” out… sorry George, but I think his songs on the White Album don't belong to his best… except of Long,Long,Long, which is underrated in my opinion.
Paul's “half-songs”, how I call them: Wild Honey Pie and Why Don't We Do It In The Road… it's not that I don't like them, they're funny, but I think they just don't belong on the album… they're more like something for a rarities compilation (just like Flying , Maggie Mae and Dig It )
and Paul's “granny s**t” , Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da and Martha My Dear … however, Honey Pie amuses me
Anyway, I think they never should have released a double-LP… I don't know if it's only me, but by having an album with thirty songs it's like you appreciate the single songs less… it's like songs which are actually not bad “drown” in the mass. If I imagine that there would have been two single albums, that would've been different.

I guess I am not the only person who likes Revoulution 9. I always found it so… intriguing. I first listened to it at night, which kinda creeped me out, but I like it for some odd reason.

Same here! When I first heard it I was like “WTF?” and I was like “O_o” ad then I was like “Yay!”
My un-Beatles best friend listened to it backwards and is now convinced that it says,”Turn me on dead man.” I think it will sound like whatever somebody says it will sound like.

I love the White Album , I think this thread is crazy. Who would want to get rid of Beatle tracks? The Beatles don’t have bad tracks, Led Zeppelin has bad tracks (Coda), the Doors have bad tracks, so do the Stones and every other band. I don’t think it’s said enough around here, damn the Beatles are good!
