George had a trunk load of incredible songs. And Savoy Truffle was an “allowed” by L/McC? My ONLY complaint of the White Album .

Really wish they had done this instead of the double album thing, unless you’re listening digitally, you have to skip loads of songs to get to the good ones.
I’m also including the Hey Jude /Revolution Single, and changing the track list for effect when listened continuously.
1. Back In The U.S.S.R
2. Yer Blues
3. Blackbird
5. I’m So Tired
7. Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey
9. Hey Jude
10. Birthday
11. Julia
12. Martha My Dear
13. Revolution

I pretty much agree with @QuarryMan ‘s list, except for one thing…
NO RINGO!!!!
I think at least Good Night deserves to be there. Just my opinion.

I was quite pushed by the 14 tracks. I guess I like more songs on TWA than I thought. I tried to make my focus on songs that would fit together better as an album and the rock thing seems to be the theme with USSR, Birthday , Helter Skelter , Yer Blues , Monkey and Gently Weeps. I think my choices would rival Abbey Road as the Beatles best rock album (Sgt Pepper wouldn’t qualify as rock IMO because it’s too diverse.

Hmmm… I looked at my spreadsheet of my score for each song, and found I only like 11 songs from the White Album (9 if you don’t count Hey Jude and Revolution .) So I’m sorry White Album lovers, but it turns out that I don’t particularly like the White Album as much as other albums. And I can’t create a setlist.

Although I personally don’t agree that the White Album should have been a single album (I think it wouldn’t have had the same charm), this is what my track listing would be.
I’m only including songs that were on the original track listing.
2. Dear Prudence (makes sense to put this second with the plane sound at the beginning imo)
3. Glass Onion
4. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
6. Blackbird
7. Yer Blues
9. Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Expect Me and My Monkey
10. Sexy Sadie
11. Helter Skelter
12. Cry Baby Cry
13. Revolution 1
14. Good Night
15. Julia (hidden track)
Songs that nearly made it on: The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill , Martha My Dear , I Will , Birthday , Long, Long, Long and Revolution 9

Not sure why people have put Glass Onion here, IMO it’s one of the worst songs they ever recorded. Even worse than Revolution 9 , because at least that’s an artistic statement in a way, though it’s unlistenable.

It is experimental by referencing numerous previous songs. But I do think that it isn’t for everybody; an acquired taste. Personally it is in my top 10 easily.

I enjoy Glass Onion – the lyrical references are fun, the drumming is excellent, and I really like the strings.

I agree. Glass Onion is pretty good, but I wouldn’t call it one of my favorites. The acoustic version ain’t bad either

There is a fantastic outfake of ‘Glass Onion ‘ from the 80’s in existence. Every bit as good as the Beatles for me, especially the solo.

From my interpretation of Glass Onion i’d say that it is undeniably an artistic statement lyrically. The way I view it, the song is essentially The Beatles mocking people (particularly the press at the time) who read too much into their previous songs like Eleanor Rigby etc. It’s the Beatles’ way of telling people to just appreciate the music and not get carried away – i’m pretty sure John actually admitted that.
The problem is that now I could be over-analysing Glass Onion …
