It may include the mono on the Blu-Ray, @glazball, to save space and keep costs down. A 6CD set is cheaper than an 8.

Here’s a few things I’m hoping to hear.
- The sound of Cynthia throwing John’s clothes out of the bedroom window at Kenwood. Apparently this can be heard on Revolution 9 , buried in the mix.
- Paul’s early demos for Hey Jude , which we all know was originally called Hey Jules. One take goes on for so long that John considers getting back with Cynthia just to shut Paul up.
- Some more Esher demos, including George’s other songs about confectionery – Quality Street, Roses and Crunchy Frog.
- Don’t Pass Me By minus that bloody violin.

That would be great, though to play devil’s advocate – how much does it really cost a record label to print two extra CDs these days? I’m sure the cost would get passed along to the buyer, but I do think the mono version would be a great addition and selling point since it wasn’t released in the US originally. (Please correct me if I’m wrong, I defer to your encyclopedic Beatles knowledge!)
And it does seem a bit ironic to play mono music from a high-res multi-channel audio format like a Blu-ray. I’d be happy to do so – don’t get me wrong – but it would be quite the juxtaposition of technology 🙂 I would liken it to playing an early Atari game on a 4K TV! It would be overkill but it would sure be enjoyable.
Alas, since we still only have rumors, I’ll have to just be patient while we await our official track listing announcement. With or without the mono versions, I don’t expect to be let down one bit.

There are mono mixes included on the Blu-Ray that comes with John’s upcoming Imagine deluxe, some of which are exclusive to the Blu-Ray.

The biggest news so far is that among the 50 outtakes/demos/outtakes on the other three discs is a previously unheard recording of ‘Let It Be ‘, tho considering the work that went on with the song during January 1969 it surely cannot be that complete or much too it.
The story going around, so far unconfirmed, is that a mono mix will be on the Blu-ray, exclusive to the super deluxe box set, possibly with other exclusive material as you can fit so much more on blu-ray than CD. There will be no videos only audio on the blu-ray.
I am far more excited about this than the ‘Pepper’ and ‘Imagine ‘ sets and will no doubt opt for a Blu-Ray player to connect to my laptop.

I’ve really been neglecting my Beatley duties recently, I didn’t even knoe the anniversary was so close.
This looks amazing from what I’ve heard, looks like I know what I’m convincing my mom she should get me for my birthday.

Any clue as to when this will be available to pre-order? I’m completely ecstatic this is really happening. Surely this means we’ll get the same treatment for Abbey Road next year, right???

Thank you very much @Ahhh Girl! Done and done! Weird that it didn’t turn up earlier on Amazon when I searched for “The Beatles White Album 50th Anniversary”. Did the pre-order just go up today?
I was really happy to see the mono versions will be included on the Blu-ray. I suppose it is a little disappointing we won’t get the 27 minute take of Helter Skelter , but when I pause to consider it, I’m not sure how often I’d want to really listen to 27 minutes of Helter Skelter . I would like to hear it, just out of curiosity. Perhaps they are holding onto it along with Carnival Of Light and other rarities so we’ll have some reason to buy for the 75th Anniversary Box Sets!
One other question – do we know if any of the included takes of Good Night has John on vocals?
Edit: Found the answer to my question in the Rolling Stone article @Ron Nasty linked. Sounds dreamy!
Case in point: a previously unknown version of “Good Night ” where John, Paul, George and Ringo all harmonize over folk guitar.

I couldn’t find it just searching in Amazon’s search bar either, @glazball.
I received an email from thebeatles.com that had a link to the Amazon record. I wanted to make sure I helped @Joe out by using his link* so I copied the ASIN from the Amazon record and popped it into Joe’s link.
