I decided to do something I don’t thing anyone has done before, and splitting the White Album into two different albums. Please note that I prefer the White Album as the double album it is, this is just for fun.
Album #1: Glass Onion
Side 1
- Glass Onion – Good starting track, as it mentions songs from the previous album, and it would be a great transition into the new era from the psychedelic era.
- Back In The USSR
- Dear Prudence
- Blackbird
- While My Guitar Gently Weeps
- Why Don’t We Do It In The Road
- Don’t Pass Me By – I would have put this on the other album, but for the sake of having the usual Ringo song I’m putting it on here. Also, I think it’s a good way to end Side 1.
Side 2
- Birthday
- Yer Blues
- Long, Long, Long
- Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except for Me and My Monkey
- Savoy Truffle
- Cry Baby Cry
Album #2: A Doll’s House
Side 1
- Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da – Starting the album off with a happy, up-beat song.
- Martha My Dear
- Happiness Is A Warm Gun
- I’m So Tired
- Piggies
- I Will
- Julia – As Side 1 ends with a slow, acoustic song…
Side 2
- Helter Skelter – …Side 2 begins with a fast, hard rock song.
- Not Guilty – While this was not in the original White Album , I think it would fit well into this album.
- Mother Nature’s Son
- Sexy Sadie
- Honey Pie
- Good Night
Like I said, the White Album works well as a double album, better than how a single album would’ve been, but this is just to simulate what it would be like if the White Album was split into two albums, simply combining songs that would flow well with each other.

Does it have to be split into only White Album songs? If they had in fact made two separate albums we would have seen Whats the New Mary Jane, Not Guilty , etc, on the album.
Also, while trying to formulate two albums, I realized that neither album meets the standards of the other albums the Beatles released at the time.

This is a bizarre concept, but what the hell, let’s not be stupid and go for it:

Side A: (Electric)
Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey
Side B: (Acoustic)
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
Album 2:
Side A:
Why Don’t We Do It In The Road
EP:
George And Ringo
Side A:
Side B:

Revolution 9 is the worst Beatles track to ever set foot on a Beatles album while they were still together and it was a mistake of them to use the track.

I disagree mightily, there is a distinct rhythm and musicality to Revolution 9 , and for me it is essential to the White Album ….

Your musical tastes might be different from mine, my musical tastes are folk, classic pop, disco, classic rock, and a bit of country, none of which Revolution 9 fits into.

Well it isn’t the White Album as two separate albums without Revolution 9 .

‘The Beatles’ would be a far inferior album without it. It took massive balls for something like ‘Revolution 9 ‘ to be released and if folk were to give it a chance instead of berating it for it not being what it never was or intended to be they might actually see the point of its existence.

I was intrigued by the idea of splitting the album into two, and figured I’d give it a try. I would want to consider other songs written in that era or in consideration for the album we eventually got. I basically split them into an electric album (let’s say Doll House) and an acoustic album (Nature?).
Doll House
A
1. Back In The USSR
3. Glass Onion
5. I’m So Tired
B
1. Birthday
2. Yer Blues
3. Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey
4. Sexy Sadie
7. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Nature
A
1. Revolution (1)
3. The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
5. Not Guilty
6. I Will
7. Julia
B
1. Sour Milk Sea
2. Cry Baby Cry
3. Blackbird
4. Why Don’t We Do It In The Road
Interesting stuff. Kind of doubt two albums would have had the impact, and I feel like they would have culled it down to one regardless but… who knows.
