a-hard-days-night-ringo-8Music is so good for the soul.  I love those video’s from “Wingspan” on their farm in Scotland, when Mary is little and she’s running around with Heather while Paul and Linda are jamming.  heart

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Years ago I purchased the Ram songbook — it’s yellow like the album cover but has a different design — a yellow guitar — and full of pictures inside I’ve never seen elsewhere (it’s probably a collector’s item).  The writing and titles inside also look handwritten, perhaps by Paul and/or Linda.

There’s one picture of a child, must be no older than 2 years, standing in his diapers looking through the glass of a recording booth watching Paul recording something.

Faded flowers, wait in a jar, till the evening is complete... complete... complete... complete...

I’m so jealous, my vinyl of RAM is so old and has none of that fancy stuff.  paul-mccartney

Just found this old picture of Paul drumming on tumblr, thought this would be a good spot for it:

And here are some pics from inside:

The isolated drum track video was very interesting to listen to. I never even knew that the piano near the end existed. *facepalm*

Don’t hit yourself too hard, I didn’t know it either. I was all like: ”HUH SINCE WHEN IS THERE A PIANO IN THIS?!”

Is this the picture of Mary looking though the glass you were referring to?  I just saw this on tumblr:

Yep that’s the one.  Do you think that’s the same kid that’s in Paul’s jacket on the cover of his first album?  Who was that anyway…?

That is the same kid, it’s Paul’s daugher Mary.

This song is a timeless monument of modern times (Beatles have had quite a stack of them, haven’t they?). Beatles were never about faultlessness, Prudence is a great example of what I was hearing about all my life music-wise: THE most important thing in music is the feeling, the drumming on DP to me just proves that. So, McCartney here is a great drummer, if for nothing else, then because his playing contributed just what was neccessary to produce an excellent piece of unforgettable music.

I think they may have let Ringo do some vocal overdubs for the chorus part as a “consolation” when he came back after his brief quitting.  That deadpan “round round round” line sounds, to me, like he was leading it amongst the backing voices.

I will play the game Existence to the End ;)
