I’ve heard the guitar compared to a dentist’s razor thingy in its high pitch, does anybody know if that was intentional?
EDIT: the reason for the comparison being that George/Eric eating so many chocolates would probably result in a trip to the dentist
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

^No idea about that, but we can’t have a love fest over Savoy Truffle and not mention the bassline or the drumming!

Why leave it at that? I demand a parade through the centre of every capital city in the world celebrating the song Ferris Bueller style

Fixed it for ya George’s teeth are lovely, Eric was the one with the problem.

I don’t want him to be influenced by Eric’s chocolate munching ways, though
Anyway, back on topic a little, I think Julia is deserving of the top ranking on this album.

I personally like Julia a lot. I also think The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill gets way too hate from people… I actually like it a lot, it was the first song on the White Album I ever heard, and it made me want to listen to the rest of the album.

Julia is a standout on the album for me. I could listen to the melody all day. It’s John’s White Album version of Paul’s Mother Nature’s Son. I love the quiet reflection of it all. A man in peaceful mourning, reflecting on his past and a significant person in it. John mourning his mother makes it a little easier for me when I think about John too…knowing he had these feelings for other people as well. We have hurt in our lives, and we remember it, but we carry on.

I love Julia . I think it’s also got an element of longing for Yoko in it as well, ‘ocean child’ being of course her name. He’s simultaneously trying to get over losing his mother and explore his feelings for Yoko.

Count me in with the Julia appreciation crowd. The guitar on it gives me a similar feeling to the guitar on Dear Prudence . I think it’s maybe how both have a slightly droning quality (and I mean that in the best way possible) which gives them a really beautiful exotic kind of feel that is very unusual among Beatles songs. Not to mention the lyrics are absolutely stunning.

I like Bungalow Bill a lot too, but I would like it a lot more if it did something more interesting with the chorus, since you have this really awesome narrative in the verse which loses all its momentum when you go into the slightly obnoxious chorus.

True, but it contrasts too heavily with the verses for me to really like it

I can never tell whether people mean earworm as a good or bad thing Like, on the one hand it means the song is catchy and memorable, but it could also mean annoying, like in this context

I find Bungalow Bill much less annoying than several other White Album songs like Honey Pie , Wild Honey Pie , Ob-la-di Ob-la-da, Martha My Dear , Birthday , and Good Night . I also think the chorus makes perfect sense with the verses, and it is one of the only songs where I enjoy Yoko’s singing. However, I think we can all agree to disagree on this topic.

Earworm means something you can’t get out of your head – can be good or bad.

I disagree. I have no strong feelings on TCSOBB – it’s ok, it’s not my favourite but certainly not my least favourite.
