One thing i’ve noticed about the White Album is that some of my favourite songs of all time are on it, along with some of my least favourite.
Ob La Di Ob La Da is one of my least favourite songs of all time and still is. it is just painful to listen to.
Wild Honey Pie just isn’t interesting to listen to. I just don’t like it.
I have heard Piggies numerous times and I would still struggle to hum it to you. It is just forgettable.
Why Don’t We do It in the road is repetitive, but is wonderful to listen to musically. It sits in the middle for me.
I Will is forgettable for me as well. It is a great lovey dovey mccartney track though
Birthday is a song I will only listen to once a year, and this is on my birthday.
I struggle to remember Mother Nature’s Son , but when I listen to it I enjoy it. I typically only listen to it when I am listening to the whole album. I never go out of my way for this song.
I don’t dislike Everyone’s Got Something To Hide Except Me and My Monkey, but i don’t particularly like it either. Same with Glass Onion .
I don’t remember Savoy Truffle what so ever. Last I heard it I remember I liked it but I could not tell you the melody at all.
Revolution 9 is great…. If you like avant garde music. Which I don’t. It is mesmerizing to listen to on vinyl, otherwise it’s a skip.
Back In The USSR has been stuck in my head for 3 days. especially the “ukraine girls really knock me out” part. the ooohhs and aaaahhs there are good too.
Dear Prudence was one of the first beatles songs I fell in love with. I also taught me how to play fingerstyle guitar. 10/10
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill is a prime example of storytelling in lyrics along with Rocky Raccoon .
While My Guitar Gently Weeps . I don’t have words for how good this song is. It is just beautiful. 10000000/10
Happiness Is A Warm Gun is probably my favourite Lennon song. 10/10
Martha My Dear is not my favourite McCartney song by any means, but it is a great song. I find it stuck in my head often.
Im So Tired is one of my other favourite Lennon songs. Another one of the first songs that helped me get trapped into this hole called beatlemania that i cannot seem to climb myself out of.
Blackbird . All I can say about this is I like it. And I need to learn it on guitar. After I learn it im sure I’ll have more appreciation for it.
Don’t Pass Me By is one of my favourite Richard Starkey songs. I love the violin on the track. 100/10
Julia is incredibly emotional. I just wanna give John a hug when I hear him sing this. I feel bad for him. 1000/10 makes my cry.
Yer Blues is a very John Lennon song 10/10
Sexy Sadie . When I think of this song I think of the clean electric guitar that picks slowly through the chord. I love it. 10/10
Helter Skelter . The invention of metal. I love it. I love Paul’s vocals and the heavy wall of sound that was pioneered on this track.
Long Long Long is one the most emotional George Harrison songs i know. It makes me cry too.
Revolution 1 . I knew the hard rock version first, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like this version. It is more stripped down, which almost makes me like it more.
Honey Pie is another lovey dovey McCartney track, but it is better than I Will . I think the piano is why I like it more. 7/10
Cry Baby Cry . I love John’s vocals on this and that accordion sounding thing that plays a scale. 9/10
Good Night is what I want to listen to as I drift off to sleep, but I just can’t! Ringo is singing!! 8/10

I’m really feeling Yer Blues at the moment. John really sings this one with meaning and it’s satisfying to sing along with him when you’re in that type of mood. Imagine a Yer Blues and Helter Skelter single combination.

I recall, I think it was about 1989, I was bemoaning a breakup thinking my girlfriend had betrayed me, I was sitting on an old sofa listening to Yer Blues and sobbing “I’M SO LONELY I WANNA DIE!!!” Good times…

I don’t care what anyone says, I’m a Goodnight defender till I die. Ringo’s vocals are so warm and soothing, and while it would have been nice to hear John’s version, I’m glad he chose Ringo to sing it. I especially enjoy the soft whispers at the end, I hadn’t noticed them the first couple of times I listened to the song. The orchestra sounds absolutely wonderful, as well, and it’s a shame Goodnight doesn’t get the praise it deserves.

It’s a good song for Ringo to sing, and it’s not bad at all. A lullaby seems up his alley to me.
