note: three threads were merged by meanmistermustard on the 30th July. Due to a number of overlaps in the dates posts were made on it isn’t practical to detail the original locations of the posts.
Me and my Beatles buddy challenged each other to list all the songs on the White Album in order of preference:
His was:
Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except For Me and My Monkey
Why don’t we do it in the road?
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
Mine was:
Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except For Me and My Monkey
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
Why don’t we do it in the road?
What would you do?

Why does everyone hate on Obla-Di-Obla-Da? Was it because of Johns' “granny music” remark? Anyways my favourites are Birthday ,Happiness Is A Warm Gun , While My Guitar Gently Weeps ,Blackbird , Back In The USSR .

This is really hard to do, cos there are so many good tracks on the White Album …
Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da (damn right)
Why Don't We Do it in the Road?
Mother Nature's Son
Helter Skelter (this is becoming awfully Paul-centric)
I'm So Tired
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
Don't Pass Me By
And that took me much longer than I thought it would. Too hard to pick…
EDIT: Wait a sec! I just counted 29 tracks. I'm missing a song… BUT WHICH ONE?

You're missing I will
It's hard to say my favorites because I'm right now in a White Album phase.. I'm listening to it a lot. Even Piggies which is not one of my favorites.
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……

I love this album because you can put it in at any time and listen to a few tracks that you really love without really listening to the entire album. Right now, I'm really digging I Will , I guess I've finally gotten over the “cuteness” of it and can really enjoy it. Julia is another one that I like a lot right now but I've been into a lot of John's “sad songs” recently and Savoy Truffle would be another. I like how silly George sounds when he sings “but you'll have to have them all pulled out after the Savoy Truffle .”
I think that Dear Prudence is probably the best song on the album though. Great drums.

I could have sworn I put that in… But you're right, ahaha. That would be between Martha My Dear and Yer Blues

I don't think I can put all the songs in order for me. But I would have to say my favorite is either While My Guitar Gently Weeps or Good Night .

In few words, all White Album songs are my favourite.
I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

Of course, everyone puts Revolution 9 last on their lists…
I like everything on the White Album except The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill . That song is super annoying! I don't understand why people like it.

…unless they don't! “Rev #9” would totally make my single-disc White Album .
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Revolution 9 is not that great to listen to, but I feel that the White Album would be incomplete or anti-climactic without it. and I think I've listened to it more times than say Mother Nature's Son or I Will . My favourite tracks vary, but usually all of the george songs, plus Martha My Dear , Dear Prudence and Glass Onion , Cry Baby Cry , Helter Skelter , Revolution 1 sometimes.

It's a fantastic album that I truly enjoy. For the longest time it was my favorite Fab LP. Listing the tracks in order of my preference…
1) While My Guitar Gently Weeps
2) Yer Blues
3) Mother Nature's Son
4) everything in between
5) Revolution 9 and Good Night
I'm not a big fan of the last 2, but never skip over them.

OK, then I choose, in no particular order:
I'm so Tired
I don't think I'm surprising anyone with a list of pure Johnnie's, right?
