As much as Capitol Records mucked up those early releases, I still think that Meet the Beatles is a better album than any of the pre-Rubber Soul UK albums, with the possible exception of A Hard Days Night. That’s my story, and I’m sticking with it!
Just gave my 2004-06 Capitol CD box set (in iTunes) releases a good listening to, on my headphones this weekend, and yes Meet The Beatles is a good LP, seeing that they put on I Want To Hold Your Hand , whereas in the UK, it wasn’t released on their LPs, just as a single. The same applies to the 2nd US LP that has She Loves You on it.
Overall, it’s nice to give these a listen every once awhile just for $hits and giggles!
That Capitol box set, isn’t that bad of a recording at all, and really is true to the dexterized versions, unlike the 2014 US CD box set!

My favourite album is probably Abbey Road (but the other ones are not far behind). It is the only album where I totally love every Paul song, even Maxwell’s Silver Hammer (the song others seem to hate), which I think is a fun song to play. My favourite song from Abbey Road is You Never Give Me Your Money . I love the transition from Because to YNGMYM.

The White Album wins by a landslide for me. And honestly, the experience of listening to the whole thing is just amazing. I know a lot of people don’t care for Revolution 9 or Good Night , but I do, and having those two right at the end is just awesome. You have this weird, freaky, noise anthem of nonsense, and then you have a quiet, soothing ballad to comfort you after the chaotic Revolution 9 . The way the whole thing plays out just feels… Complete. And I love every single song on it, even the bad ones. (Plus, it’s got probably my favorite song ever on it, which is Blackbird .)
In second place comes Abbey Road . That album was my reintroduction to The Beatles, and to me it sounds like a culmination of all their music up to that point. A grand finale if you will.
For third place, I have a hard time choosing between Help ! and Rubber Soul . But for today, we’ll go with Help !

Revolver or The White Album .
I believe Revolver is better, perhaps the best album ever, but The White Album is probably my favorite Beatles album. Its tough though, because I’m a huge fan of Abbey Road and Rubber Soul .

I don’t see why not. Personally, I love ‘Love Songs’, a 1977 compilation, mainly due to childhood memories.
