I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I think the UK version of Help ! is a better album than the UK version of Rubber Soul .
The USA version of Rubber Soul is another story. I like that album better than the UK version, so it might fare better against UK Help ! I would have to hear them side by side to compare.

Rubber Soul is great collection of songs to me. I would normally pick RS over Help ! to just sit down and listen to. I do, however, enjoy the movie playing along with the Help ! songs.

I would rather listen to Help ! than Rubber Soul . It makes me happier and it has Yesterday which might just be my all time favorite song (but then it also has Dizzy Miss Lizzy , but I usually stop listening after Yesterday anyways).

I’m a Rubber Soul girl. I mean, I love Help ! too, but Rubber Soul brings back some warm memories from my childhood.
Help ! has some happy wonderful songs too. And I like both versions. The US version for the “Bond” theme complete with sitars that starts the album off.

Have always said ‘Help !’ is the ultimate pure pop album, it’s such a wholly enjoyable album in which I put on track 1 and am hurled along for 30+ minutes in a whirlwind of sheer thrills, with just enough moments to let you/me catch your breath – even more so than ‘A Hard Day’s Night ‘ for me.
‘Rubber Soul ‘ is a very different listening experience which doesn’t overwhelm me as much, it never has. Admittedly it wasn’t meant to as its more mellow a listen but it doesn’t transfix and captivate me as much. There is more to ‘Rubber Soul ‘ tho, tho ‘Help !’ does have a number of layers to it.

While I agree, Rubber Soul is arguably John Lennon at his creative peak, and in my opinion, a songwriting spectacle that has rarely been met or exceeded. While the Help ! movie is my favorite Beatles film, and the soundtrack deserves a lot of credit (especially I Need You and You’re Gonna Lose That Girl), the excitement on Help ! doesn’t beat the genius on Rubber Soul .
Its Rubber Soul for me.
