The album is out now! My dad had it pre-ordered a-hard-days-night-george-10

If you haven’t heard yet, guitarist Andy Timmons and his band have released an album, an entirely instrumental version of Sgt. Pepper .

Here are some videos of him performing the album live:

I know, SFF was on Magical Mystery Tour , but it’s extremely impressive.

His official website is here if you wanna check out the album.

Good Dog Nigel. Arf, Arf, he goes, a merry sight. Our little hairy friend. Arf, Arf, upon the lampost bright, arfing around the bend. Nice dog! Goo boy, waggie tail and beg. Clever Nigel, jump for joy
Because we're putting you to sleep at three of the clock, Nigel.

He's a famous guitarist, he's considered a great by many legends including Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Ted Nugent, and Ace Frehley. He's sorta the low-key legend really and he likes the music festival scene, so he's not known to many.

So he’s famous to a bunch of people I’ve also never heard of of? Great. (Well, I’ve heard of Ace Frehely, but I don’t care what he thinks – not a KISS fan). And is it just me, or is “low key legend” an oxymoron?

Ive also never heard of him or the people (except Ted Nugent which does ring a bell but who exactly i have no idea) who consider him to be fantasic (still ive never listened to a lot of people who are universally regarded as legends and never saw or read Harry Potter so what do i know).

After listening to the 3 clips above my comments are; the least said about Lucy the better a-hard-days-night-paul-3 and it all usually slipped into sounding like a U2/the edge extended solo tribute, and im not looking to hear that.

Sorry.a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

He is definitely a talented guitarist – thanks for sharing the vids.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Me too Zig! (Used to buy guitar mags in the '80s & 90s.) But I never cared for that Vai/Satriani/Malmsteen style of shredding – stuff gets real boring after 10 minutes. Whereas Ted & Ace did their best stuff in a band context.

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

It's disturbing. All the time I'm waiting for someone to sing… Ohh, now comes the part-ohh it didn't come. I suppose I'm not fit for guitar only music… But he does seem talented…

ATB Plays Sgt. Pepper , like the original, is fantastic.  May not be the cup of tea for someone who is not into guitar, but I find it brilliant.  Anyone willing to give it a try, I would suggest easing into it with “She's Leaving Home”, a stunning and heartfelt rendition of the original, “A Day In The Life “, and maybe “When I'm Sixty Four”, which is a very cool and amusing version with a country flair.  But the truth is the whole thing is really, really good, even if you don't stop to consider that every song is essentially ONE guitar performance or that he arranged the songs the way he remembered them and not using the original music as a reference.  That must give you an idea of how much into The Beatles he is.  And aren't we all?  Andy is an incredibly well rounded and tasteful guitarist.  I am really looking forward to see where Andy Timmons goes from here.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 I agree! He puts a wonderful touch on his rendition. My dad happened to buy two copies on accident, and when the second package arrived (which contained an autograph from the band), he let me keep it 🙂 So no my dad and I have our own copies xD Lame story but yeah xD

And welcome to the forum xarcos32!
